@RAF_Luton I must admit, I am impressed at just how much that Canberra gets around capturing all of these impressive photos.

This is similar to the argument against police using bait cars. My response is "do you know what a bait car looks like to a law abiding person? It looks like someone else's car. To a car thief, it looks like a target."
What does a strongly built mailbox look like to a law abiding person? It looks like a freaking mailbox. To a vandal, mailboxes all look like potential targets.

Missing the point entirely.
What would happen if he hadn’t swung at my mailbox?
Nothing.
I took reasonable precautions to protect it-What he chooses to do is not on me.
I also lock doors of my house.
If he doesn’t break in, nothing happens. If he does, what does is on him.

@TwoRulesOfWar If you caught the person who smashed your mailbox and had them tied to a chair, you'd break their arms yourself with a bat then, yes? Because that is the just and appropriate punishment for mailbox smashing?

@horwitzben I've always thought that there should be a corrupted spellcheck named "Tourette's" that whenever it found a misspelled word, it would correct it, but insert a random expletive in front of the corrected word.

@alphafox Pretty much, though I do remember there being 3com drivers loaded in my autoexec.

Mostly accurate as long as it is understood that there are no clear borders and even within a particular area, some cooks will make a variation or totally ignore the regional trend.
Sauce when it comes to BBQ is also a point of contention for many. Just like BBQ folks will point out that grilling meat outdoors is not BBQ, but a completely different method of cooking.
For many, the meat (many variations), the smoke (different woods, different flavors), and the application of heat, time and smoke to the meat is what defines BBQ. The sauce is an after-the-fact addition that can be ignored, used sparingly, or *gasp* smother the meat.
The best trans-Pacific comparison would be how sushi and soy sauce pair. Some will not dip, most will say that it should only touch the fish lightly, and there are those who will dip an entire nigiri into a pool of soy sauce to the point where the shari is saturated (with others looking on aghast).
Personal preference rules, and since I have never seen an unhappy face when the BBQ is good, any slight personal variations are just a sign that we're each unique.

I heard something about American BBQ that I’d love to confirm.
Apparently, BBQ sauce varies completely by region — six distinct styles, each tied to a different state:
🍖 North Carolina — vinegar and pepper, no tomato
🍖 South Carolina — mustard-based, bright yellow
🍖 Texas — thin, spicy, with chili
🍖 Kansas City — thick, sweet, molasses-heavy
🍖 Memphis — served on the side rather than on the meat
🍖 Alabama — a white sauce made with mayonnaise (!)
Six different BBQ sauces in one country. Is this really the case?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried them — which one’s your favorite?

@WaltzingMtilda I can tell you that if you tell them (some companies, not all) that you are also recording for your own quality and training purposes, they will hang up on you.

I admire, respect and share your views and statement as to wishing that her health issues resolve out positively for her.
But don't kid yourself my dude. If you were to have attempted the Abe pipe gun video today (now that you are running for office) and the cover you were behind didn't protect you to the extent that it did? Her supporters (and I suspect that she) would be crowing, gloating and cheering at your injuries or even your demise. Of this I have no doubt.
She may not be your enemy, but there are those who see you as theirs. Even as you take the high ground, please don't ever lose sight of this fact.

Oh man, Usenet. It was a different age. Horrors and delights with people acting/speaking in ways that would make Redditors blush. Flame wars and outrage expressed with elegance and mindless gibberish. A cacophony of both the best and the worst of humanity, and the binary files. Oh the things you could find, the tales you could tell, almost forgotten from the minds of today.

@BrianRoemmele I see a computer being used by its ancestor, hand cranked by the species that invented and made them both.

@TheStingisBack But what about branding, messaging and advertising? You're telling me that people will come even if I don't flood the Interwebs with content and solicit followers?

@scs_real If I were a personal chef and everyone could afford me, that also means that I could afford to not work and therefor, no one would be able to hire me as I was out of the workforce.

Chef and maids hire chef and maids?
Can you see the folly of theses idiots?

Many years ago, applying for a Fire Rescue Dispatch opening, and the Chief was REALLY old-school.
Chief: "Are you currently or have you ever been a homosexual?"
Long awkward pause..... staring in both directions (for vastly different reasons. Me out of shock over the question. Him out of impatience that I didn't answer immediately.)
Me: "Well sir, not really, but if you say that it's a job requirement, I am willing to do my best."
The Captains sitting in on the interview each guffawed.
This was back before government HR even existed other than to do payroll.
