Yesterday, I joined @RepKamlagerDove, @RepGilCisneros, and @RepLouCorrea to support the Stop ICE’s Medical Neglect Act, which would ensure people in ICE detention can report medical neglect, have their complaints reviewed by board-certified medical professionals, and get the care they need. For the past ten years, I have gone to Adelanto ICE Processing Center to demand answers for the medical neglect, abuse, and inhumane conditions that has caused inexcusable suffering and death. These protections are urgently needed. But accountability alone is not enough. Every day Adelanto remains open, more lives are put at risk. We will keep fighting until Adelanto is shut down once and for all.

61 years ago, our country made a promise that getting sick or falling on hard times should never mean going without health care. Trump & Republicans broke that promise. They gutted Medicaid to give billionaires a massive tax cut. Now, millions of Americans are losing coverage--including nearly 40,000 in CA-28. I won't stop fighting to reverse these devastating cuts.

Yesterday, I joined @APWUnational to deliver one clear message: Protect our postal workers, protect our reliable and essential mail services, and protect the right to vote-by-mail! The Postal Service is an independent public institution, but Trump is trying to politicize it by forcing postal workers to carry out new restrictions on absentee ballots, affecting millions of Americans who depend on them to make their voices heard. The Postal Service doesn't belong to any President. It belongs to the American people.

Families across CA-28 have spent $104 million more on gas since the beginning of Trump’s illegal war in Iran. But instead of addressing these sky-high costs, Republicans decided to hand Trump $73 billion more for his reckless war, a war that the House of Representatives has voted to end TWICE.

AANHPIs account for more than 50% of hepatitis B cases in the U.S. and are 5x more likely to die from hepatitis B-related diseases than non-Hispanic White people. This #WorldHepatitisDay, let's work toward a future where everyone has access to the care they need.

Today, I led 62 of my Democratic colleagues in a letter demanding answers from @SecVetAffairs about cuts to the Veterans Health Administration’s behavioral and mental health workforce. As the only psychologist in Congress, I know how critical timely, high-quality mental health care is. Our Veterans answered the call to serve our country. They should never have to fight to get the care they’ve earned.

We must call the Dilley Family Detention Center what it really is: a prison.    Children are trapped without their parents, fed moldy and worm-ridden food, forced to drink dirty water, and exposed to fatal diseases like measles. No child should have to suffer like this.   That’s why I joined @JoaquinCastrotx’s letter demanding @DHSgov shut down Dilley NOW.

I stand in solidarity with everyone who gathered this weekend in Pasadena to demand justice for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, Joan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, and every person who has lost their life at the hands of ICE.   We will not stop fighting ICE's lawlessness.

Trump's tariffs are crushing small businesses and taking money out of Americans' pockets. But instead of lowering costs, he's doubling down with another round of tariffs that will drive prices even higher. The average family has already lost nearly $2,000 to Trump's tariff tax. They shouldn't have to pay a penny more. abcnews.com/Business/trump…

I am appalled by yet another instance of antisemitic vandalism of the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center.  That anyone would deface this mural, which was painted by the community in response to a previous antisemitic incident in January after the one year commemoration of the Eaton Fire, is completely unconscionable.

I will always stand with PJTC and all our Jewish neighbors against hatred. pasadenanow.com/main/community…

The @APAICS Fellowship and Summer Internship program has created such an important pipeline for young AANHPI professionals to enter public service and ensure that our community is represented at the highest reaches of our government.  It was a privilege to celebrate another class of graduates, especially my own APAICS Fellow Harrison Vijay Tsui and my APAICS Intern Maria Blaze. Your incredible work will leave a lasting impact on my team.

This week, the Ways & Means Committee GOP advanced a bill to protect the tax-exempt status of nonprofits that discriminate against interracial & same-sex couples. Watch as CEC Vice Chair @RepJudyChu breaks down how this extreme bill enables a host of other harmful practices:

The federal minimum wage has remained at $7.25 since 2009. Since then, its value has declined by 30% as prices for basic necessities continue to rise. Today, the minimum wage is a poverty wage, with full-time workers earning less than the federal poverty line. Every hardworking American deserves a livable wage. It’s time to pass the Raise the Wage Act.
Labor Caucus@Labor_Caucus

It’s been 17 years since Congress last raised the minimum wage. $7.25/hr isn’t enough for working families to make ends meet. Americans are tired of waiting. We must #RaiseTheWage and give a pay bump to roughly 22 million workers.

This week, I met with @NSAIofficial to discuss how Congress can support musicians and other artists, including by protecting their work in the age of AI and passing my bipartisan bill to restore artists' ability to deduct their everyday business expenses. And, thank you to Lee Thomas Miller, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer, for giving us a wonderful performance of two of your original songs!

On July 20 The Planetary Society joined @JohnsHopkins, @airandspace, @SpaceNews_Inc and the Congressional Planetary Science Caucus with Rep @DonJBacon and @RepJudyChu on Capitol Hill to celebrate the landing anniversary of Viking 1. We gathered with scientists, policymakers, and space advocates to reflect on what Viking taught us and what it set in motion for Mars exploration. Grateful to everyone who came together to mark this milestone in planetary science.

This weekend, I attended the 2026 AAPI LEAD Summit to celebrate our fantastic AANHPI leaders from all across the nation. There are more than 25 million AANHPIs, yet we only represent about 1% of elected officials. That’s why we must recommit ourselves to building a future where every community has a seat at the table, every person has the opportunity to be heard, and every future generation has the opportunity to lead.

Rep. Mace’s racist, bigoted resolution does nothing to address or solve the real discrimination facing our communities. Its only purpose is to invoke anger and division. As Chair Emerita of @CAPAC, I know how important it is to have spaces dedicated to representing, celebrating, and understanding our diverse communities. Congressional caucuses like CAPAC enable us to serve Americans better, plain and simple.
