On the 51st anniversary of the fall of Saigon, we honor the brave troops who fought alongside one another and the thousands of Vietnamese refugees who risked everything on their journeys to freedom. As a Chair Emerita of @CAPAC, I will continue to recognize the history of Black April and acknowledge the numerous ways the Vietnamese community has enriched our nation.

As the first Chinese American Congresswoman and Chair Emerita of @CAPAC, I am so proud to represent such a diverse community in the San Gabriel Valley, including Monterey Park, the first suburban Chinatown in the United States. This is a month to celebrate the history and countless contributions of our community. It's also a reminder to uplift AANHPI voices not just in May, but every single day of the year.

This month, we celebrate the rich history and invaluable contributions of our AANHPI neighbors, from building the Transcontinental Railroad to shaping every part of American life today. From the Lower East Side to Chinatown, from Sunset Park and all across NY-10, our AANHPI community is a cornerstone of NYC that must always be honored and protected.
