In the #FlameEngine any component can be nested inside itself which is great for composition. We mirrors the same for Flame3D except for our light components… they could only be added to the game world 😢 But that is no longer the case! You can put a light wherever you want!

Hier, en pleine démo dans une conférence, je note un bug dans notre plateforme. Je le reporte à la team sur Slack. Un de mes collègues me demande l'URL de la ressource. Sans réfléchir, je copie l'URL sur le navigateur et je la lui donne. Ndekete c'était une URL localhost. J'avais la plateforme qui tournait sur ma machine. Je termine ma conf, je me déconnecte directement. Ce matin je check Slack et je vois des dizaines de messages. Les gars ont passé tout l'après-midi à se marrer et à se foutre de ma gueule. Les pires blagues pourries de développeurs. Le pire c'est que moi-même je suis devant les messages et je rigole comme un fou. Bref, on a vraiment un métier de gamin ! Faut pas que l'IA nous le prenne quand même 😂

🚨 The #1 problem with local AI is now solved. There’s a new tool called llmfit that checks your hardware and tells you which models will run well before you download anything. So instead of guessing and hitting out-of-memory errors…it gives you a ranked list based on your machine. What it does (in one command): → scans your setup (RAM / CPU / GPU / VRAM) → evaluates models for quality, speed, fit, and context → selects the best quantization automatically → labels what’s ideal vs okay vs borderline The part I like most: it handles MoE models correctly. Example: Mixtral 8x7B has ~46.7B total params, but only ~12.9B are active per token, and llmfit accounts for that (a lot of tools still don’t). 100% Opensource.

Here is a random thought I've been having for a while already. People were making 3D games WITHOUT hardware acceleration in 1998. Surely today in 2025 CPUs are magnitudes more fast than in 1998. So you can probably make a software rendered 3D game today that looks and performs much much better than Thief and don't have to deal with the bullshit that is the modern Graphics API and be EXTREMELY portable. It's not gonna be the cutting edge AAA gaming, but you can surely make something indie-ish cutesy low-poly no problem. I feel like today it's more feasible than in 1998.

After building out a game of my own and using Retro Diffusion for every piece of art, I'm really curious to see what other people can come up with. So I'm going to host a mini game jam. $500 of Retro Diffusion credits in prizes (1st = $300, 2nd & 3rd = $100 each). Build a game over the next week that uses RD for the artwork. Whatever genre, whatever type of gameplay. On Tuesday March 10th I'll gather up all the games (video of gameplay is fine) and decide which I think is the most interesting. Make sure to repost this and/or @ me so I know what you're making! I'd love to see progress along the way as well :) TLDR: Make a game, $500 in prizes, you've got until the 10th, gotta use Retro Diffusion for the art, it has to be a *new* game, not something you've been working on.
