@vignesh_1718 @TamilanParthib1 @arunraajkg I would suggest that the Government introduce incentives or periodic maintenance support for households that preserve trees in urban areas. In recent years, I have noticed many old houses being rebuilt by utilizing the entire plot area, and by cutting down of existing trees.

This is alarming. My sincere request to @TamilanParthib1 and @arunraajkg to take this issue with utmost concern. Chennai might look lowest on the radar but AQI 100 is still bad. Project protect blue skies is the need of the hour. Ways we can mitigate this: 1. Zone based system in big cities to have ultra low emissions by introducing fuel emission charges for old vehicle 2. Electric buses which are solar powered 3. Electric charge point infrastructure in all petrol bunks (would also reduce reliance on petrol and diesel) 4. Point 3 would mean more coal emissions so we should concentrate on more renewable power such as solar and tide energy to avoid this 5. Ban on new coal plants and increase solar power plant 6. Incentive for electric powered vehicle 7. Incentive for solar installation in homes, factories and corporates 8. Emission certificate should be mandatory and traffic police must check for all vehicles 9. Emission grade to be checked with automobile companies to align with EU standards 10. Identify polluting industries and discuss on what they could do to reduce this or if it’s not feasible they can support the government in building any of the above 9 points as a CSR and Sustainability activity to help offset their emissions (Net 0 emission) @CMOTamilnadu
