First of all, it's YYZed... And second of all - no, I can't get it. It's impossible. Neil Peart stands alone.

Israeli successes against Iran and its proxies over the past 18 months, plus the spectacle and ease of the Maduro extraction, allowed Netanyahu to convince Trump that this would all be very easy. Trump liked what he heard, and he’s surrounded by corrupt craven stupid yahoos.

@goddammitsarah Fantastic movie. Dorks on this website are gonna sit here and say that Chalamet didn’t kill it as Paul - just they wait for when Messiah drops in theaters.

That’s not a fucking thing, we need to put these FDD morons out to pasture. Before this war, the Strait of Hormuz was “fine”, and Iran was almost entirely avoiding launching attacks ‘from Iran’ (the three excellent being when we or Israel hit them first). The longer this war goes on, the more the Iranian defense industry (which was chronically underfunded and resourced before this war) starts spinning into high gear, and the more they start taking imports of ‘better weapons.’
Brit Hume@brithume

"If the United States can hold firm for the next few weeks, it can fully degrade Iran’s war-making apparatus. This would usher in a multiyear interval of calm of the kind that neither sanctions nor diplomacy has been able to produce in..four decades." nytimes.com/2026/03/19/opi…

@peterawolf That’s what I keep saying. Also the housing crisis, the idiotic education policies in SF, homelessness and billions on that incomplete train line etc. Gavin is going to be the one who has to take all that shit from the media as governor. He’s seen as the face of California.

American voters will never elect a California Democrat to the presidency, especially not one who gives off slick and vaguely sleazy vibes (untempered by a charming accent) and is associated with San Francisco. CA and SF hold a special place in American conservative demonology.
Jeremiah Johnson 🌐@JeremiahDJohns

This is a great point from @mattyglesias today - the weakest 2028 Dem nominees are ones that swing voters perceive as too far left, but the left hates anyways. You want a candidate that doesn't create internal strife, but still codes as moderate to swing voters.

No one seems to understand this. The intended framing is in the centre; the point of the taller ratio is just for your peripheral vision. It's *not* the same thing as the academy ratio, in which the whole film is framed for 1.37.
kea@haibaneinsect

IMAX having this aspect ratio exclusive to only be in their special little cinemas is anti-art. Make the fact the screen in the IMAX cinema is huge as the selling point, not that you can only see the full authentic vision of the director in that specific cinema.

Genuinely very funny how much the Brian Herbert books and anything that relies on them are considered zandaqa. Much of the Dune Reddit is functionally ijtihad to try to understand the setting just by the work of Frank Herbert.
