@treycam @peterboghossian Really? Was it not clear he was providing additional information on how Islam regards Jesus? Do you have to be on a "team" to cite facts?

@peterboghossian Peter weighing in on this one is kinda weird… is the atheist on team “Jesus died and rose again from the dead” or team “It was all a ruse and he never really died”? Or just that they’re not same Jesus? “I don’t believe in God…but also, your God isn’t his Prophet”

@VTHistory25 @Not_the_Bee States can award delegates any way they want. This really comes down to how you interpret the compact clause, the opposition would have to show that the states are usurping some federal power by having this compact.

Jesse Singal was an editor at New York magazine when he started covering youth gender dysphoria in the mid-2010s. He started Substacking years later. But the truth has never been particularly important to Andrea James in her effort to smear reporters for doing their jobs.

@RT_com Terrible "journalism" there. You're just responding to words without digging any deeper. The blockade is not a total blockade of the Strait. It's a blockade of ships entering or leaving Iranian ports and waters. Of course all other ships can pass. 🙄

The assertion is false. The US fought a civil war to reunite the country. That had to be achieved through violence, as most civil wars are. Only later during that war did the US's goals morph to include abolishing slavery (in the states that seceeded). As most people know, that was done first to undermine external support for the CSA (from European powers).

@C_3C_3 Interesting self-own: "The US is the only country that fought a civil war to end slavery." That suggests that all the other countries abolished slavery out of moral consensus, with only the US being so strongly opposed that it could only be achieved through violence.

Want some truth? There are ~195 sovereign countries in the World and all 195 have had slavery. But… Out of those 195 countries the United States is the only one that fought a full scale Civil War to end it.

when spacex was getting started, the first and last men to walk on the moon testified before congress against it. gene cernan told congress commercial space companies "do not yet know what they don't know." he said the boeings and lockheed martins were "the folks who have been working on everything we've done for the last 50 years. they know how it can be done." neil armstrong said he was "not confident" the newcomers could achieve their goals. together with jim lovell they warned it would put america on "a long downward slide to mediocrity." spacex now launches more rockets than every country on earth combined. the experts will always tell you it can't be done. build it anyway!

I built CourtWatch.us — a free public database for American citizens who deserve safer communities. You can track which judges released defendants who then got rearrested, skipped court, or violated their release conditions. All public records. All free. I started with Orange County FL and will be expanding to all 67 Florida counties and eventually every state in the country. This first batch of info is from 2024 and since public reports are released in March/April for the previous year, data is behind. But I wanted to see if this is plausible. After adding 2024,I'll add 2025 and then figure out how to get real-time-data uploaded. It's in beta — would love to know what you think 👇 Numbers don't lie, but criminals do. courtwatch.us @bennyjohnson @jockowillink @GrantCardone @LauraLoomer @nickshirleyy @j_fishback

There is no doubt in my mind that the best writings of any U.S. President are Grant's memoirs, and his recollections of Lee's surrender in Appomattox---161 year ago this today---are perhaps the best parts of those memoirs.

Turning knife fights were pretty rare by 1945. As they say, speed is life and 262s had that as a significant advantage over their opponents. That said, facing overwhelming numbers of enemies that learned to jump them while landing or taking off (i.e. low and slow) is what did them in.

@MeAtasu @WWIIpix Dogfights that are not BVR are almost exclusively NOT in a straight line. Speed is great for distancing and closing, but not in a turning knife fight.

Let Us Now Praise... The Beatles
"The one that really got me was Rubber Soul, which came out at the end of 1965. Rubber Soul is probably the greatest record ever. "It came out in December of 1965 and sent me right to the piano bench. It’s a whole album of Beatles folk songs, a whole album where everything flows together and everything works. I said, 'How could they possibly make an album where the songs all sound like they come from the same place.' I couldn't deal with it. It blew my mind. It wasn’t just the lyrics and the melodies but the production and their harmonies. They had such unique harmonies, you know? [It was] almost art music . . . I thought, 'Damn it, I've got to do that. I've got to try that with the Beach Boys.' "You could hear their ideas so clearly in their music. They didn’t pose like some other bands. They were great poets about simple things, and that also made it easier to hear the song. And they never did anything clumsy. It was like perfect pitch, but for entire songs. Everything landed on its feet. "Pet Sounds is a good album, but not the best. I think Rubber Soul is still the best album of all time. Maybe other people consider me a genius, but I don’t, not on their level." --#BrianWilson #Genius #BeachBoys #HallOfFame #Songwriter #TheBeatles #RubberSoul #Inspiration #GOAT

@MagroStan @BeatlesPraise That makes Dylan a great poet, not necessarily a great song writer and performer. The Beatles far excelled him in song writing and performance. And in musical innovation.
