It appears that most fans are opposed to the Mets releasing #8 (to call up Nick Morabito) after having not issued it for 25 years. There’s been a debate over whether Gary Carter’s number should be retired, but to release it this 40th anniversary season of 1986 just seems wrong.

Trump wants you to think raging a senseless war and paying higher prices is what it takes for Iran not to have a nuclear weapon. Not true. The 2015 deal Obama negotiated prevented Iran from having a nuclear weapon, and there was no spike in prices then. But Trump tore up that deal and now Iran’s nuclear program is less contained today than it was under the 2015 deal.

@NYNJHarper I posted this more than 2 weeks ago. 40 games with 40 different lineups and 3-4 guys playing out of position. Now McLean only throws a 2 seam fastball. No more 4 seam up in the zone? Myers at 92 mph is effective up with his 4 seam.

@simonateba I honestly don’t know where you get this BS. I know multiple service members and they love Trump and Hegseth. The only unpopular change is the shaving policy.

He calls himself the secretary of war. He talks tough on television. The former Fox News personality Pete Hegseth mocks journalists and cuts them off mid-sentence. However, before long, he may be facing prison, not for bombing nearly 200 schoolgirls to death (many people here don’t even see them as people), but because of the enemies he’s creating within the military. He’s firing some based on race, and others for urging caution amid reckless wars. Many of those he’s dismissing are well liked in the military. They’ve trained and mentored thousands of officers, and they will be back. Yes, when it comes to politics, partisanship reigns. But even partisan people resent seeing a good man’s career destroyed, especially someone who has dedicated their life to the United States. So when you mock them, calling them fat, and fire them for warning that you may not win a war against Iran, people notice. Time passes. Soon, you’re gone. And then your problems begin. The problem with power is that when you have it, you rarely realize how fleeting it is.

It’s been 60 days since Trump started this war against Iran. But this war should've never should’ve happened, and it needs to end. Now. Under the War Powers Act, this administration is now required withdraw our troops or make their case and seek Congressional authorization.
