@elipariser I would tell people, truthfully, that we hired less than 1% of applicants and the final decisive criteria was not about skill but just about match and fit for the particular role, so they really shouldn’t doubt their awesomeness based on the outcome.

Hive mind: 1) a term for systemic racism w/o the word racism, which is, I say with all due scholarly caution, overstretched to the point of impeding productive exchange & 2) a term for tweeting bile based on tweets and headlines rather than reading the piece.

We desperately need anti-racism to become an evidence-based field, and not a fear-driven dogmatism. Pls also check out John McWhorter’s new book on this topic.

This is Avaaz's and my biggest focus right now - democracy is drowning in disinformation. We need bold action to give the truth a fighting chance!

Our democracies are drowning in weaponized disinformation on social media. Distributing independent third-party fact checks to everyone exposed to these lies is crucial - we have a window to act before most of our powerful countries are led by liars who will block such reforms.

@SenatorTester @facebook @SenateCommerce Zuckerberg told Senator Feinstein he deleted tens of thousands of fake and dangerous accounts to protect French and German democracy. What about US democracy? And other countries? Why isn't tracking and deleting those accounts Facebook policy?

I’ll be questioning @facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the @SenateCommerce hearing shortly. I plan on asking him about a few different issues, but I also want to hear from you. What are your concerns? And what do you think I should ask Mr. Zuckerberg? Let me know below!
