$ASTS woulda been down 10%+ today anyways regardless of raise based on the high beta momo stocks. So at least they got $1b out of it. $3.7b cash on hand after already spending >$1.5b on sats & launches yet to occur. Essentially fully paid for past BB30. Cash leaves bank before you see them in space.

@wave3trades days like today make me wish I had sold stuff that just wasnt working earlier, like rare earths space and nuclear, so I had more cash on hand at this moment. That feels worse.

Days like today are why its so hard to be a successful investor You know you should buy, but the thought of it makes you physically sick It's easy to buy at the top and hard at the bottom Don't listen to anybody that acts like this is easy

Opinion: AI stocks bottom on Monday July 20 with the most likely window being Friday afternoon through Monday morning. Why? Today looked much more like capitulation than the start of a new bear trend. TSMC delivered outstanding results yet semiconductors still sold off hard. If great news cannot lift prices it most often signals forced selling rather than deteriorating fundamentals. Friday is monthly options expiration which can create additional mechanical selling pressure. Monday often becomes the final flush as fear peaks and positioning resets. The next major catalyst is big tech earnings beginning next week. Markets often start pricing those in before they arrive. My view is there is about a 70 percent chance the AI sector bottoms Friday or Monday. If I had to pick one day it is Monday July 20. The AI story is still intact. This lookss more like a sentiment reset than the end of the cycle. Not financial advice…just my 2 cents. Let’s see what happens. I think it’s almost over.

$ASTS price action today, what a bloodbath. It seems we are gravitating towards the lower volume shelf around 50. The cascade from 80 to 50 no doubt accelerated through the low volume zone. But the trip can be just as fast in the opposite direction so buckle up.

Dip, flush, exasperate…then stunt. “The OGs were all in at $3 so they are different.” It was as hard at $3 as it is now. You have to Know What You Own™️ and have a digestive track that allows you to eat at Taco Bell and chase it with Coke Zero and still have a functional biome. The Hold™️ is what separates the men from the boys. $ASTS

$ASTS People are focusing on the dilution, but they’re missing the bigger picture. Raising $1B now, before cash becomes a concern, is exactly what AST should be doing. It gives the company the financial strength to accelerate satellite production, secure launch capacity, and execute its roadmap without constantly worrying about funding. The timing is actually excellent. AST is moving from the development phase into deployment, and this is when having a strong balance sheet matters the most. I’d much rather see them raise capital from a position of strength than be forced to do it later under pressure. Yes, there’s short-term dilution, but if this capital helps the company deploy its network faster and reach commercial service sooner, today’s dilution could create far more long-term shareholder value. The company also plans to use capped call transactions to reduce potential dilution from the convertible notes, which many investors seem to overlook.

$ASTS this notes offering relative to timing of draw down from the high is most similar to Jan 2025 when the closing price was -43% from the high, which bottomed 5 days after the announcement and 22% below the closing price from day of the announcement for a total of -55% below the 2024 high. We're currently 15% below yesterday's closing price and -58% below the recent high making this the deepest pullback from the highs since the all time low. If we haven't bottomed near $55 and bottom in the next week with a total of 22% drop from the latest notes offering it would put us around $51 for a total of -61% from the high, which since the all time low has never dropped more than 55% before today's 58% draw down from the high. We now have arrived at the next volume shelf. Most times, after note offerings we see the price trade sideways and down for a week to a month before the overhang is cleared out. I believe $55 and $50 area could be well supported in the near term. How we bounce/rally after a low is in can give more clues on how the following months can trade. *NFA

$ASTS I’m taking another swing at $72’s for July 31st. We should have JLEO news and maybe a T-Mobile deal by then. This funding will mark the low bc there is no other bad news we can get and the shorts knew they would have to fund again and sat on the stock until they did it. Kudos to the shorts, but it’s time to cover.

$ASTS I wish the company would have done this raise closer to when Blue Origin blew up its pad. The shorts sat on the stock the last 50 days knowing this. That said, I feel like we’re “home free” to a constellation with this raise as now we can pay up for launch to get to 45.

$ASTS Must read! 🔥 1/ Everyone is freaking out about the $ASTS convertible notes. Here’s what actually happened and how you can beat the algo’s and knee jerk selling. 🧵👇 2/ AST just raised $1 BILLION at only 1.625% interest through 2034. That’s incredibly cheap capital for a company building global infrastructure. Institutions don’t lend $1B for nearly a decade at that rate unless they believe in the long term story. 3/ The notes convert at $79.57/share. The stock closed at $66.31. That means investors accepted a 20% premium just to have the option to convert years from now. 4/ Here’s the part almost everyone is missing… AST spent $96.9M on a capped call that protects shareholders from much of the dilution. That protection extends all the way up to $149.20/share. That’s extremely shareholder friendly. 5/ The cash isn’t being raised to survive. It’s being raised to accelerate growth. Management specifically said the proceeds will be used for: • More launch access • Partnerships • Acquisitions • Vertical integration • Reducing dependence on third-party launch providers That’s offensive capital, not defensive capital. 6/ So why is the stock down? Simple. Convertible buyers often short the common stock as a hedge. Algo’s trigger sales. That’s mechanical selling pressure, not necessarily a change in the company’s intrinsic value. 7/ Could the timing have been better? Absolutely. But zoom out. AST now has nearly $1B of additional firepower to accelerate execution while locking in financing at just 1.625%. The market is reacting to dilution headlines. Management is positioning for the next decade. Know what you own.®️🦾🚀 I expect a quick update on what exactly these funds are being used for with a ROI exceeding expectations.

$ASTS Have seen a lot of illogical takes and I’ve had a fair share of my own related to this capital raise. It’s best to keep it simple, take the $ while you can and minimize dilution. This market is unforgiving to the under capitalized in highly capital intensive industries. If this capital guarantees commercial launch in 2027, in hindsight no one will care. The company also has a habit of PR’ing a massive piece of news the day(s) after a raise. That’s a neutral view on today.
