@planert41 It might seem counter-intuitive, but my philosophy is that when you’re feeling burnt out you need to push harder. Be more disciplined. Being a parent teaches you efficiency and to prioritize. Everyone has the same amount of time, use yours well.

Dads with young kids Is it normal to just feel tired and burnt out all the time? It’s like you don’t even really get the weekend to recover because it’s all just kid stuff the moment you wake up Arguably the only personal time you have is when they nap (and you’re already dead tired by that time) or the hour after they go to bed but before you pass out Just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong

@oilersdailyy Why only one year?

The Oilers are expected to sign F Maxim Beryozkin to a one-year entry-level contract beginning next season. Beryozkin was drafted by the Oilers in 2020 in the 5th round, but has been playing for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the KHL. Beryozkin had 7 goals and 25 assists for Lokomotiv in 64 games this past season.

@JFreshHockey It’s an anecdotal list, and maybe there recency’s bias here, but I’m a little surprised that McDavid has the longest uncontested streak on the list.

With all our conversations about generational players, etc. I thought it might be interesting to go back and think about who was generally considered to be the top player at each position going back to 1970. This isn't about who /was/ best that year, but what the consensus was.

@nickiacoban I love models, but I’ve learned to be sceptical of model results for Anaheim’s recent high-pick forwards. Correct me if I’m wrong (cards?), but all of Senneke, Carlsson, and McTavish looked poor in models in DY. What is Anaheim’s scouting criteria that has given them an edge?

Roger McQueen's never been a huge point producer but at 6'6", he'll get opportunities regardless of his production. Staying healthy was the biggest goal this season after a major back injury last season, it's been great to see him play a full slate this year. #FlyTogether

I think the 2027 top-10 is the best in recent memory, just above 2026’s group. We’re on an upswing after some quiet bunches to start the 2020s. I think that peaks in 2027 - though I’ll admit to not being as versed in 2028 and beyond as my peers

Brock England, a top 10 pick. We can get behind that Explosive, locked-in offense defined by tempo and sharp decisions at full speed England is a major player to watch

@ProducerDrew_ Tough to go through the central division, but if Utah goes through the Pacific I think they could go on a run.

@Kitkat_1216 My youngest son has autism. My oldest son plays hockey so this holds a special place in my heart. He loves watching his big brother play. This is the university of Vermont barn. Super cool!

My son is Autistic, and he is obsessed with hockey arenas, not hockey, hockey arenas. He wants to visit one every weekend, then comes and draws them for hours at home. If anyone has pics of hockey rinks please share, and supply the name. It would make my 5 year old so happy!

Cole Eiserman never popped in college quite like I would have expected, given his age, early outlier production and that shot of his. Probably sees a year in the minors before he's with the Isles full-time.
