In 2021, I got sectioned. In 2022 and 2023, I had involuntary stays in hospital. I genuinely thought I’d never get better…
Turns out, I was wrong, and today I’m celebrating spending the whole of 2024 hospital-free! 🎉
@itskyleconner Theatre. My last car was a Mini JCW. Now that had theatre. Your backside a few mm from the floor and the ‘kick down’ from the flappy paddle gear change was great! Nowhere near as fast off the line as my Model Y, but the Tesla does it without any fuss and no theatre…
Working on a video to discuss the downsides of driving electric
There are pros and cons of any powertrain choice and I’d like to hear truthfully what are some of the issues you have with driving electric cars
I realize some of you won’t like this video, it doesn’t help your agenda of trying to push for more EVs, but it’s important to be realistic!
Don’t worry I will include pros too 🫡
@5uggy@UKRunChat I had a Strava sub for a few years but concluded last year that I didn’t really need it. If you want to spend money on a sub, I think the better subscription, IMO, is Smashrun.com. I’m a long time subscriber and the stats and historical data is excellent.
Question for the runners out there... What benefit would a Strava sub give me over the free version and the stats on my Garmin Forerunner 255? The Forerunner has been a superb purchase in focusing my runs. Am I missing a trick without the Strava sub? #ukrunchat@UKRunChat
@runningchannel Happened to me at the Brentwood Half back in March. I felt pretty disappointed at the time - all that work and because I wasn’t as fast as most, I missed out. They posted it out later and offered a discount on next year, but it’s not the same.
To those who have been there and done it.
What's the most important piece of advice you would give to someone running the TCS London Marathon for the first time? 👇
@Astro_Angry Free at the point of delivery is a founding principle of our health service. You might have to wait but you will be seen and you won’t have to be worried about paying for it. It’s one of the few things that we can still be proud of…. But there are those who would take it away…
I got to see an actual Doctor. Total time at the hospital was about an hour. He took a very thorough history. Really nice guy.
All I paid for was the scrip, and even that was cheap!
I felt guilty. UK taxpayers shouldn't have to cover my bill.
I'd have happily paid £30.
Got my first real test of the UK medical system. I've been sick for a damn month now...waited until I got my monthly Goole Adverts paycheck because I assumed, as a foreigner, I'd have a significant bill.
Turns out I shouldn't have waited. The Urgent Care was free!

@GillianSearl@RedCircleFP@FundmentHQ Hi Gill. I had a similar experience, but I can confidently say it was the previous pension company that was the problem. Ultimately my IFA assorted it out and got me a (small) compensation payment. It’s what they get paid for.
In both of these photos, I was suicidal. Yet, looking at the second pic, you wouldn’t have known it.
That’s why it’s so important to check in with your friends & family. You never know what someone is going through 💚 #WorldSuicidePreventionDay
A week ago, I lost my best little friend, Bailey. For 14 years we had some wonderful adventures together. Without him, there would have been no running and no London Marathons. Without him, my life would have been very different. Goodbye little friend, you were very much loved.
@runwithclaire You’re definitely not stupid and clearly you don’t need people like that. I never joined a club for this very reason. Run for your own pleasure. Run however you want to!
This was all after I'd done 30 mins at 6:23/km, practically dying after each lap, and that still wasn't enough?!!?!
Tell me I'm not being stupid and she was a complete 🔔🔚? 🤣
I hate my running club.
Just did a 3 person relay, and the level of eliteness is horrible.
Got 3/4 through and I jokingly say 'how do you have the lung capacity to still have a good conversation in each rest'

@straczynski Should the stars align and a reboot of B5 gets the green light, may I politely request that, if you are ever tempted to do a ‘musical’ episode, you pour yourself a well-earned drink and reconsider…..
@GWRHelp I’m scheduled to travel from Paddington to Cheltenham on Friday morning. Given there’s going to be some disruption and assuming some form of service is running, will I be able to use my Advance Single ticket on another train if my train is delayed or cancelled?
