2 games before Forest we beat Villa guess who scored? Mo Salah. Silly how people use nonsense like “not lost a game” lol dude we won 1 match and that was vs a really bad west ham team. We almost lost to Sunderland if not for Chiesa’s last second heroics. We let 3 goals in tonight. It’s not exactly been like wow Salah dropped we won 5 on the bounce. The whole squad is playing bad.

Not for me, this. Another case of your classic superstar who you can’t bench without feeling his wrath. So incredibly boring.

@TheKopWatch Konate, Gakpo, Kerkez, MacAllister all been worse. If I'm honest Van Dijk has been awful as well. Add Gravenberch to it as well. All shite. None of them have been benched 3 games in a row. Salah carried the team on his back last season. He adds more threat than Gakpo all day.

Listen, I’ll probably get the usual pelters, but Mo’s been benched for THREE games, and he’s gone nuclear and is looking to do some self preservation. Everyone (bar Szoboszlai) has been awful, but Mo Salah has been one of the worst performers this season m, and everyone who isn’t blinded by loyalty will admit it, so it isn’t outrageous that he’s having a SMALL spell out of the team. The interview is just insane and not needed.

@johngibbonsblog @MelissaReddy_ He's absolutely been thrown under the bus, Slot stuck with the same underperforming group for months when a competent manager would have changed things around early on and not let the pressure build to this point before singling out one player and making him the scapegoat.

If you leave one of the biggest players in the world out for three games in a row, and don’t even bring him on in two it’s going get a reaction. It’s either extremely naive from the management or exactly what they wanted to smooth through a January exit….

@johngibbonsblog He’s been poor since well before the end of last season. He doesn’t have a god given right to start games and his cameo Wednesday night didn’t do him any favours either. Disappointed he’s decided to take a nuclear option now personally

@rudkin_abigail I still can’t get my head around the bench he chose, especially when the first team squad are in the ground. Made a defeat inevitable the minute we go a goal down with nothing to change the game. A winnable competition discarded as well.

Winning a game of football was important tonight. A win tonight would have us in a better mindset for Saturday imo. The majority of the first team sat there watching us lose doesn’t help anything.

@DominicKing_DM We completely abandoned the pressing structure for the winner, allowed them to play it front to back and shrunk into a shell. Outcome was inevitable.

You can say players aren’t performing or signings aren’t gelling. But there is a simple explanation for that defeat - a lack of game management. 94 mins and Liverpool play like it’s 0-1 in a semi-final, abandoning shape. A point was going to be fine. Defeat feeds a fire.

You really have to wonder how Gakpo lasted 90 minutes. He should’ve been hooked at 60 for one of the only Liverpool players with any sort of form, currently sat on the bench.
