Bin liners full of my pre-prepared frozen food that defrosted when the electricity went 5 weeks ago. Despite begging MCC for urgent help, I am still not housed. 25 years and counting.

Please share 🙏🏼 I am without electricity 5 weeks in a homeless place, and despite requests to urgently house me, the council are refusing to help.

Today I went back to Meath Co Co with more HMD1 medical forms filled out as well as housing needs assessments, to prove I have disabilities and need urgent housing. I am 25 years waiting on social housing and 15 years waiting on suitable disability housing specific to my needs.

@Navanlass1 @bberrybeth365 @meathcoco Thank you for sharing my story @Navanlass1 Honestly I’m struggling. No electricity, 5 weeks, can’t shower, can’t cook, can’t wash clothes, can’t use fridge. It’s a deplorable situation. I’m shocked at how I’m being treated by MCC.

Charity of the Day! Independent Living Movement Ireland, 100% state-funded, €500k a year costbase, 70% on salaries, 10 staff, top paid (presumably CEO Damien Walshe) on €60-70,000 a year. Helps the disabled and that. Inclusion etc. If this charity is truly providing a service of utility to society, then why not absorb it into HSE, and dispense with wasteful admin etc.

@nwl88444048 They refused to help me. I’m waiting on social housing 25 years with Meath County Council. MCC also refusing to put me on a disability listing. I’m currently in a place over 4 weeks without electricity. I can’t cook, shower, no heating etc. A vulnerable lady with disabilities.

One of the access barriers I mentioned in my #USI22 speech on public transport. There are many barriers facing students and members of the public that need urgent reform and change. #therocheapproach I’m so pleased everyone supported this motion.
