called @RocketOTD today & spoke to an executive team member on the servicing side. first time I ever paid my mortgage through them and they had my account listed under a 45yr loan instead of 30yr. I was told the website could never be changed and I could not escalate the call

I swear Rocket Mortgage is trying to get me to default on my house. I bought my house in 2021 with a mortgage of $850 which included escrow. (taxes, insurance, etc) through a local lender. 2022 my loan is sold to Mr. Cooper, 2023 they claim that they underestimated my property taxes for the year and increased my mortgage by about $50. Not a big deal, kind of annoying but hey not a huge jump. 2024 rolls around and hey looks like I underpaid again, so now it jumped up to $970. Shockingly 2025 there is no change, apparently they were able to figure it out that year. Sometime in 2025 Rocket Mortgage bought Mr. Cooper. Then SOMEHOW Rocket Mortgage figures out that they/Mr. Cooper drastically underestimated my taxes and now my mortgage is right around $1250 a month. So a nearly $300 jump in one year, the SAME YEAR Rocket purchases Mr. Cooper. Which means my mortgage has increased by 50% in five years because these lenders REPEATEDLY underestimated property taxes and it has steadily built up over time because of it. Now, granted some of that increased cost is to reflect the increase in taxes, yet a good portion of that increase is to pay back what I underpaid(allegedly) for the last three -ish years. I get that this is something that happens when you have a mortgage. What I dont understand is how Mr.Cooper/Rocket fucked up the estimate so bad in 2025 that it warranted a $300 increase to my mortgage. Shit is broken with this system, IDGAF how or why but there is no reason why their underestimate or the State's dog shit processes should result in me paying more. It also feels like it could be very easily abused to make people default on their loans. Maybe thats just me being crazy though.

Every month, slop company @RocketOTD charges a $65 late fee on my mortgage even though it’s paid and the balance shows $0. I have to waste ~an hour to call in and correct them because online services can’t correct that. What a mess!

Herer is my PSA for the day, after which I am signing off the internet until tomorrow. If you have the ability & option, AVOID @RocketOTD at ALL costs. Their payment system and costumer service is trash. Last month I decided to make a payment for April's mortgage a few days earlier, plus extra for the principle because I had the money. The next day, they took April's payment out AGAIN because I had autopay on. For all my loans & all my debts, this has never happened before. Normally, if I make a manual payment early, the auto pay would not take out until the next month. Not the case with RocketMortgage. So I contacted them (3Apr) to see if I could stop the payment or get that money from the second payment returned to me. First they told me I have to wait 3 business days to make sure the payment actually processes & then have to provide proof the payment cleared my bank account (screen shot of the transaction). So I did that. I didn't hear anything from them until 12 Apr but they needed additional research to determine the best course of action which take another 7 days & that wasn't going to guarantee the refund. At that point, I decided that it would be so close to May that I'd have to give that money right back to them so I told them to not worry about it. Too much time is being wasted. Thinking I was current on my mortgage, I was fine. I even checked Friday to verify no more payments were scheduled. Next payment was set for 1 June, so all good. Woke up this morning to check on another payment & saw that RM took another payment out with the payment history saying, "Scheduled Payment 1 June." Checked my bank account that they took the payment today. Contacted them again to cancel the payment. Told me the same BS. I will have to wait half a month to see if they believe they should refund me my payment. I did not choose to do business with RM. I forced into it, but best believe, I will NEVER used another RM product again after this.

Hey! @RocketOTD! Your "customer service" person just hung up on me and I don't know why. Help me understand this. Mr. Cooper took over my mortgage and didn't pay the insurance. Then, one of their "customer service" people said to me that it was my fault that you didn't pay!

@RocketOTD Please help me! You've taken $30,000 into escrow, about 3x what's needed, then taken money from escrow to pay my taxes, but the money never made it to the tax authority! So far I've spent over 5 hours on the phone with customer service and I am at my whits end.

@RocketOTD Hey Guys - I love how I’m INUNDATED with help when my loan is in process through closing, but when I am locked out of my online account because the 2-step verification is pointing to an old mobile number, nobody can figure it out after I’m on hold for 40 MINUTES. 🤷🏻🤷🏻
