Chatting with Sir David, he the main speaker & I was chairing the BNA conference, he said he’d be staying for all the talks, not just his, as he was excited to hear the other natural history speakers. He was over 80 then, that passion remains at 100

It's Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday and in 1980 he faced questions from an audience of young viewers about his life and television career. Lesley Judd hosted the show, and Attenborough talked about making a connection with gorillas, and his concerns for the environment.

National Tiger Conservation Authority
Leopards are among the most unique and adaptable big cats- thriving in forests, grasslands, mountains, and even near human settlements. In India, their resilience is remarkable: as per the 2022 estimate, tiger landscapes support ~70% of the country’s leopard population- estimated 13,874 individuals. While leopard numbers across these landscapes are largely stable, 67% live in areas adjoining tiger reserves, highlighting the critical role of shared habitats and connected landscapes in securing their future. #AmritKaalKaTigerVision2047 #NTCA @PMOIndia @moefcc @wii_india @mstripes @PIB_India @EnvironmentPib @IBCA_official @Unitedfortigers

#IBCASumit2026 From being the first-ever global summit dedicated exclusively to big cat conservation to bringing together world leaders, experts, and 95 range countries, this is where conservation takes center stage. The summit goes beyond dialogue, driving real commitments on technology, financing, and cross-border collaboration. A female bobcat launches nearly 8 feet (about 2.4 meters) into the air to strike a bird mid-flight, knocking it to the ground before securing the catch. The sequence shows the explosive speed and precision these cats rely on when hunting

More tigers, more sightings, more excitement but the true beauty of Ranthambore lies in giving them space, not chasing the moment. Recently, witnessing Durga tigress with her four cubs felt like watching a true gang of tigers raw, fearless, and unforgettable in Ranthambore National Park. @my_rajasthan @RajGovOfficial

Today, the report received from the Forensic and Health Laboratory, Jabalpur, has confirmed the presence of “Canine Distemper Virus” (CDV) in the tigress Amahi (female) and her 4 cubs. This deadly disease spreads to tigers and other carnivores through dogs. The virus directly attacks the nervous system and respiratory system, ultimately causing a slow and painful death. The last reported case was in a leopard from Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. That leopard was later treated at Indore Zoo. Although it has now recovered and become healthy, it has forgotten how to hunt. #tigerdeaths #mpforest #bigcatalliance

The last cub of the Amahi female has also died. I am deeply saddened that this tigress, along with her entire family, has been wiped out in the last 8 days. I am speechless and very heartbroken. This is very wrong. Only one question to authorities Where is tiger protection?

Survival in the wild often depends on terrain management. In this encounter, the Sambar deer utilizes the riverbed to neutralize a Bengal tiger’s explosive power. As ambush predators, tigers rely on short bursts of speed rather than sustained endurance. By forcing the chase onto uneven, rocky ground and through water, the deer exploits the tiger’s biomechanical limits. Navigating unstable stones increases energy expenditure and injury risk for the heavy feline. Realizing the pursuit is no longer energetically viable, the tiger concedes, proving that habitat choice is a critical defense mechanism. VC: Rajesh Saini #BengalTiger #Ethology #IndianWildlife
