We need more 10Gbps or higher dedicated servers for hosting our OS and app updates. We have North America covered well enough via sponsored servers from ReliableSite in both Miami and Los Angeles and a sponsored server from Xenyth in Toronto but no longer have any left in Europe.

@conspirator0 I also had this issue for about a week. The page would initially load normally, but the feed would then go dark and many many requests were going off to the point where the browser hanged.
This video show the network requests that Twitter is currently making when I attempt to view a tweet. Just gonna go out on a limb here and speculate that maybe the actual problem is Twitter trying to refresh itself 20 times every second, rather than "scraping".
