Poilievre could’ve spoken out about the importance of acceptance and inclusion for queer and trans Canadians. He could have also stayed silent. Instead, he weighed in, amplifying a slogan pushed by homophobic far right groups.

Millions of Canadians rely on CBC-Radio-Canada. @PierrePoilievre wants to shut down these home-grown information services, and sides with U.S. media giants. Poilievre is a threat to Canadian democracy, plain and simple.

This is a difficult call for @CBC, but the right one. Musk's libertarian biases cannot be allowed to damage the legitimacy and trust of public broadcasting. When will Twitter attach tags warning us of posts from "Billionaire-funded media"?
