Hey Mark, you're worth around $35 million while continuing to land major Hollywood roles. You could donate $25-30 million tomorrow and still live an extremely comfortable life for the rest of your days. At a conservative 4% safe withdrawal rate, even a remaining $5-10 million would generate roughly $200,000-$400,000 a year in passive income, several times what the average family earns. On top of that, you own multiple luxury properties, including a New York penthouse reportedly worth around $7 million, and you're still taking on film roles that pay millions. Lecturing others while sitting on tens of millions yourself is peak Hollywood... As for Elon, his charitable giving has far exceeded your entire net worth tenfold. And as for the idea that he can simply "solve world hunger" by writing one giant cheque only demonstrates your fundamental misunderstanding of how global hunger actually works. It's not a problem that disappears because one wealthy person transfers money into the system. You need a basic economics lesson and a mirror, because your hypocrisy is matched only by your lack of self-awareness.
Mark Ruffalo@MarkRuffalo

Hello @ElonMusk. This is how you are perceived. Not too late to course correct but it’s getting pretty late. You certainly have the extra money on hand to really help the people of the world instead of the hellbent road of chaos and destruction you are ludicrously barreling down. Put down the Ket straw. 🤪

@jzrdan Mostly agree, but the biggest issue for me are his entry prices. Did he buy all these at or near ATHs? A lot of those picks aren’t necessarily bad companies, just terrible entry prices and far too much beta. A sprinkle of one or two of those at good prices, wouldn’t be so bad.

I hate to single someone out like this but it’s so important people understand that this is NOT investing. Investing is about staying in the game long enough to make the money. Tracking companies. Reading earnings reports. Learning about management teams. If you treat the market like an easy money making machine, you will get results like this. NEVER buy a stock that you’ve done zero research on. If you don’t know how to research a company, start there first. Finally, investing is about building a portfolio of strong businesses, not tickers you’ve seen on X or Reddit.

A lot of accounts are calling for people to buy heavily, saying that the bottom is in. That’s easy to say after growth stocks have already pulled back 50–60%. I just want to raise a note of caution. Keep in mind that $SPY is still sitting at all-time highs. Would you be comfortable seeing your stocks drop another 30–40% from here if $SPY corrects by 5% or more? If the answer is yes, then go for it. -RM

Markets are extremely asymmetric in nature. We see this with sell offs in the indices all the time and its no different for individual names when fundamentals haven’t changed. This is currently the biggest momentum unwind in the past 27 years, I know it feels painful but trust the process. When these names bounce and they will bounce it will be extremely aggressive. $NBIS $CIFR $WYFI $SMTC $CRDO $INTC $WULF $CORZ $CLSK and names alike all look very attractive.

@gravityfact @ADZanderWest This is the problem, so many people don’t understand basic economics and spout nonsense on Twitter with full ignorant confidence. The state pension is paid from the current welfare budget, you don’t have your own personal pot set aside by the government Nige.

@ADZanderWest No mate: the pensioners PAID their OWN fucking pensions THEMSELVES AS TAX WHEN WORKERS. The fact the government never sets aside the money they paid to be paid back as pensions (if it were a private company, they'd be ARRESTED FOR FRAUD FOR THIS) is no bloody excuse for this !!

@DanielRWalkley You can consolidate them into a SIPP and then invest them however you want. You’ll have some options on how your workplace pensions are invested, but sometimes they are limited depending on the provider.

@Normanjam67 Ukraine has to win this war, we shouldn't be penny pinching when it comes to it. However triple lock / winter fuel payments can be scrapped or means tested. The money is all there it just needs cut from places where it's not needed.

@RyanShorthouse @TorstenBell How about fuck you? You’ve hardly worked a hard day in your life and you seriously think it responsible to move pension age to 70? What jobs will 70 year olds be doing?

It is right to bring forward the increase in the State Pension Age to 68 in the late 2030s rather than the mid 2040s. A good move from @TorstenBell. But we need to get it to 70 - and that age be the cultural norm for retirement - asap. We also need to increase the age of accessing your private pension as quickly as possible. It’s 55 at the moment; 57 in 2028. Needs to be much higher as quickly as possible. One of the best ways to boost growth and reduce public expenditure is to get over 55s working longer. If babyboomers want their children and grandchildren to enjoy the standard of living they’ve enjoyed, they need to contribute more in the labour market now. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@StufferSuitcase @DominicMcGregor Most sleep walk through their working lives, never actually looking at their pension or how it’s invested. I’ve known retirees who only checked what they had accumulated as they approached 60 and were disappointed, far too later to do anything.

Open letter to 20 year olds. You will not get a state pension. You will either die before you reach the age of it. Or You will be means tested out of it. Or It will be entirely scrapped in the next few years. So, what does this mean. It means the only personal responsible for your retirement is yourself. You have to start investing early. Take advantage of tax breaks in a private SIPP. Opt in for workplace pensions and put in what you can afford too. Be prepare to work for a lot longer. Have children you can provide care for you, If you do not adopt this mindset or attitude today you’re future looks very bleak there will be not state support. This should be a warning.

@StufferSuitcase @DominicMcGregor If you’re approaching 50, you should really have a large pot by that point benefitting from compounding. The fact the median UK pension for ages 45-54 is only £80000 is insane to me. People in this country are completely financially illiterate and uneducated.
