@luxemiaa I made sandwiches to take into hospital when I had my third, because I knew I was going to deliver in the middle of the night. By the time I'd given birth and got round to saying 'I'm hungry', my husband and the midwife had finished the lot. I haven't forgotten that, either.

When I was 7 months pregnant, my husband and I went to a party and they had cherry pie. I brought one slice home specifically for myself because at that stage of pregnancy I thought about food constantly. I put it in the fridge, went to bed, and fully planned on eating it the next day. The next morning I woke up already thinking about that pie. I walked to the kitchen excited, opened the fridge, and the container was empty. That man ate it. Not even after a few days. Not after asking me if I still wanted it. This happened within hours. I just stood there staring into the fridge trying to process what I was seeing. Then I started crying so hard he thought something actually terrible had happened. And honestly I still defend my.......

@justme13866752 @BirdyBooky That’s great, I’m the mother of a 5ft girl that goes there. She is not happy, many of her friends are not happy. The school knew they weren’t happy and showed the students plans of toilets that did not materialise.

First of all - for all those men frothing at the bit about parkrun. If @parkrunUK posts places & times, it’s competitive. Simply add extra categories;Transmen & transwomen, & why not bring back records? Why shouldn’t women, as defined by Uk law, have their own category? And finally 5 million pounds of tax payers money, who by the way, support fair sport for females, went to parkrun, in part to grow female participation, which with no female only category has zero way of showing it is doing so! @JulieLovesFluff @TaniaAMarshall It’s a double edge sword. As a decent normal parent we worry about leaving our children with strangers but many children don’t have decent parents & we need to create opportunities where they can speak in private.

I took my 11 year old to her checkup this morning and the nurse asked me to step out of the room for a moment. I politely declined and she said, "It's just for a moment." And I told her, "No thank you, given all the stories about children being abused my husband and I decided to never leave our children alone with anyone, even medical providers. Anything you need to do or say you can do with me in the room." She looked all miffed and just left, no idea what her plan was but she didn't feel the need to continue it with me present and that makes me even more suspicious?? When she left my daughter thanked me for not leaving, she's already shy about the doctor, her eyes got so wide when the lady asked me to leave.

when my 4-year-old’s daycare held a “lunch with mom” event, every single mom showed up. we all have other jobs, which is why our kids are in daycare. but we took off work or found a way to get there in the middle of the day. now, they’re doing an event for the dads … at 6:30 in the evening. it’s a small example, but the double standards are real.

When I was Police and Crime Commissioner, I had to pour more funding into Appropriate Adult (AA) because when kids were arrested, the parents or caregivers simply refused to the police station. During a visit to our newly built custody suite, it was brought to my attention by the Sergeant that he had called the parents of a young boy that had been arrested. He was told they were busy, and never turned up. Fortune is spent on things like this.

Personally, I would have required they all were arrested and their parents/carers come to collect them from police custody. Contrary to comments and narratives being pushed by some, this is not a policing problem, but rather an insight into what the future may hold. Young children during school half-term, decide to storm a store and cause absolute carnage, steal from the business in numbers and cause significant alarm to other members of the public while filming their criminal activity for content. Where does this sort of behaviour graduate to? What is the logical next step from this? How many of the parents of these children will know what they have been doing?
