@howemill @ThrimbyFarms Yes they have the right to buy but will this come too late. A lot of farmers in their 60’s and won’t pay off the farm before they die and their children will be burdened with that debt plus IHT on the full value. Will the banks loan against this? Is it worth the stress!

I’m struggling to understand this - why is it a disaster for “tenant farmers” when the example then relates to “small family-owned”? Is it an assumption related to landlords selling off land to pay inheritance tax? Or does Tim not understand what a tenant is? Or something else?
Tim Farron@timfarron

The Chancellor’s budget is a disaster for tenant farmers. Small family-owned farms will be hit by the changes to inheritance tax and will be forced to sell up, with young people robbed of their opportunity to farm. We’ll be fighting tooth and nail to protect family farms.

@OldHallFm @howemill If you eat too much beef it will give you cancer according to some studies. If you look you will find a study that will tell you what you want to hear. You should have a listen to the Rich Roll podcast cast with Layne Norton.

@RussellCalder @howemill Probably true - I do try and avoid them except on very rare occasions socially where it isn’t possible. Definitely never use them in my house!!

Great wee documentary highlighting the role nutrition plays in contributing to human health. Moving from seed oils and sugar to grass finished beef fat, eggs and greens can really help get those essential fatty acids 🥩 🍳 🥬

This is a huge day for @X. My documentary, Cancer: A Food-Borne Illness, is finally here. It is only on this platform that I am able to release a film that challenges big food conglomerates and mainstream health claims without fear of censorship. Here is the story of how I, an 18 year old girl, spent 2 years relentlessly searching for the for the true cause of cancer. Here's what I found:

@vaderbogger @GMB So the man that spends his life in a plane for work, wants to stop the production of beef to save the world. Maybe wants to start with his own industry before preaching about others.

Man who presents travel show wants to ban nutrient rich meat🤷‍♂️🙈. Walked out to see my cows this morning feeling pretty low and very angry having seen this was going to be on @GMB Not a lot of support judging by the comments, faith in British public restored. 🤙👏
Good Morning Britain@GMB

Is it time to ban beef? 🐮 Journalist and presenter Ade Adepitan argues that the production of beef is so bad for the environment that eating it should be thought of as "the new smoking".

@Tom_Clarke @BritishSugar Sorry, but is this a theoretical market? If so who covers the short fall? Even if it’s not I don’t see many people wanting to invest in something that only has two parties at the table.

The real beauty of the ground-breaking futures-linked beet contract developed by NFU Sugar with Czarnikow is that for the current crop, @BritishSugar could have bought all its beet at about £34/t and growers could have sold all their beet at £63/t with speculators filling the gap

@TWBFarms Clive how much yield loss do you get on each set off wheelings? Is there any yield loss if every machine is on a different path? Is there More chance of the soil and roots healing the compaction of one machine rather than 2 or 3 passes on the same track.

We have a choice to make. These are some of the few trees in this whole glen. They survive the grazers by hanging on to this inaccessible crag. Do we need sheep on every inch of our uplands or can we incentivise our farmers to spare more land to allow biodiversity to recover?

@RewildScotland Why do you always focus on farm land? You never post a picture of a house, factory, wind turbine, park, office block non of these are natural? The land scape you have shown above is a lot closer to natural than the later!

@bleating_lamb I was thinking the same here! It seemed brighter and clearer than the fungicide treated next to it! No broadway star used on it!

This little plot of wheat next to the pylon missed the liquid fertiliser, whatever biologicals were applied will have permeated through the soil. It also missed the Broadway Star herbicide & Chlormequat growth regulator. It shouldn’t look better but it does…

@RewildScotland And why is it right that large companies can buy up the land, then cover it in forestry to of set the carbon emissions?

Landscape choices. Do many of the 400 lairds who own half of Scotland keep sheep on the uplands just to avoid inheritance tax when they pass it on to their eldest son?

We have lost two hours of work today as the jcb decided to do an automatic regeneration of the engine exhaust gases. How does this save planet when engine has to run full belt for two hours. Plus the pollution caused by the millions of empty add blue cans. @JCBagriculture
