Thank you, Texas, for the overwhelming support! On to November, so we can DOGE Texas government and put taxpayers first.

For years city planners have purposefully eliminated female trees because fruit on sidewalks/parks is a nuisance to clean up/maintain. The trouble is female trees *trap and hold pollen,* so in cities full of male-only trees, pollen stays in the air (and sidewalks, cars, clothes, etc.) at a level it normally (naturally) wouldn't. The problem is exacerbated in DC because our city is "gifted" trees from around the world - a beautiful sentiment, but it means a confluence of foreign pollen is introduced to people who haven't grown up breathing it. The result? People who move to the DC area say they've NEVER had allergy problems before and suddenly can't leave the house without medication. When they go home the problem magically disappears. Because at home they're around the pollen they've been around their whole lives AND in smaller amounts. Eating local honey or using bee propolis used to be enough to solve the mild allergies people used to get, but there is no local honey created with all the trees in DC because, again, they're all male. Our great-grandparents didn't have didn't have Zyrtec yet you can read their spring-time diaries cover to cover and never find any mention of seasonal allergies. Because we invented them. Introduction of female trees (which botanists have advocated for for decades) WILL bring with it the issue of increased maintenance and clean up—AND there can't possible be enough female trees (or mature enough ones) for a few years to make a meaningful difference in allergens but I still believe this is a step in the right direction. City workers already clean up disgusting trash left by vagrants every day so what's a little fermenting sidewalk fruit in the mix?

$500 million. That’s how much Texas spends every day. 600. That’s how many auditors the Comptroller’s office has. I’m going to turn a lot of them over to make sure government isn’t wasting your money. It’s time to DOGE Texas!
