When people are hurting, they look for answers. The problem is… some answers are easier than the truth.

A war powers resolution will not be enough. Yes. We need to assert congressional authority and stop this illegal war in Iran. But, Trump is clearly an unstable warmonger at odds with the will of the people. Removal is the top priority. No more war criminal in the White House.

I predicted someone like Trump many years ago, in THE DEAD ZONE. So now I'm saying this--in the next 12-16 months, we're going to find out if the two machines for the removal of a man unable to fulfill his duties actually work. They are impeachment and the 25th amendment. He is deeply unwell .

We should take Trump's statement that "a whole civilization will die" in Iran seriously. Those are the words of a madman threatening a war crime. I've carried the nuclear codes for the President of the United States. I've spent a lot of time thinking about what a scenario like this means for humanity - everyone loses. It’s time for Congress to stand up and stop his reckless use of force.

Imagine Trump’s messages read out by the prosecution at Nuremberg. (“A whole civilisation will die tonight.”) They would have hanged any one of the defendants.

He has not gone insane. He was already insane in 2016 and it was visible to anyone who did not refuse to see it.

I will not stay silent while our President threatens to commit war crimes in our name. There comes a time when basic humanity transcends partisan politics. To my Republican colleagues: Now is the time to stand up and speak out.

"A whole civilization will die tonight” are words no President of the United States had ever spoken until this morning. Donald Trump’s behavior is unhinged and making Americans less safe. After a 25-year career in the United States Navy, I have never met or served with anyone who so completely lacks the qualities of good leadership as Donald Trump does. If the President takes the actions he has threatened to take, countless Iranian civilians will die, it will massively escalate this war, and the United States will be seen as a country without a moral or ethical compass. That will make Americans less safe right now and risk the lives of thousands of service members. The consequences will have a lasting and damaging effect on our nation. Trump's mistakes have led us to this perilous moment, but the solution is not to escalate even further. This must stop.

I say this as an American. Not as a Democrat or a progressive and as objectively and unbiasedly as I possibly can: Trump must be removed from office immediately.

If Trump’s cabinet had one shred of integrity left, they’d immediately invoke the 25th amendment and take the nuclear codes away from the madman sitting in the Oval Office.

Narcissism and sociopathy. Awful combination. Nobody disordered like this sees beyond themselves. They've no connection to a greater good; little connection to humanity at large. They cannot feel empathy, shame, or contrition. They always get worse, and resist going down alone.

The President and the dumbest person on earth should not be the same person.

A reminder: if you are a US pilot and you are ordered to nuke a civilian target or bomb a nuclear power plant with the goal of producing a nuclear disaster affecting civilians, you have a legal duty to refuse to comply with such an order

Congress is meant to be a check on the President. For 15 months, Congress has been nowhere to be found. History books will be written about one of the weakest Congress' in American history.

As an American, I feel compelled to say where I stand: 1) I wholeheartedly support Péter Magyar in his bid to defeat corrupt thug Viktor Orbán in the Hungarian election. 2) I wholeheartedly condemn threats to "wipe out civilizations" or commit war crimes. It is immoral.
