"I'm useless" That's how I feel right now. Codex built me a new iOS app and submitted it. One prompt. I never even opened the App Store. It used my browser to write the app listing and uploaded screenshots that it took on my local simulator. I got pinged when the app was accepted. Back in the pre-AI days, I'd throw my fist in the air and tell my wife. Today, I felt nothing but admiration for how far AI has come. The skills I acquired in the last 10 years have become useless. But strangely, I feel good about it. It means the only thing I’m valuable at is being me: thinking and deciding what to work on. The next 10 years are going to be interesting as our value shifts from execution to judgment.

One very common monitoring mistake: placing the watchdog inside the system it watches. If the scheduler, server and alerting logic fail together, everything looks calm. Separate failure domains where the consequence justifies it.

I tracked 991 startups on TrustMRR. Here’s the median month-over-month revenue growth: Jan — baseline Feb 🟢 +9.0% Mar 🔴 −2.5% Apr ⚪ 0.0% May 🔴 −5.0% Jun 🔴 −1.4% The median startup grew 1.6%, but it's trending down since March. It gets more interesting when the data is split by category: Growing: 🎬 Entertainment & Media: +72% (n=17) 🎓 Education: +15% (n=69) ❤️ Health & Fitness: +10% (n=36) Declining: 🎮 Gaming: −16% (n=15) 🎥 Creator Economy: −13% (n=51) 🛒 E-commerce: −8% (n=25) 🤖 AI tools: -6% (n=230) I think now is more important than ever to choose a product that won't be obsolete next year because of AI. That's why I'm working on TrustMRR (AI can't replace trust) and building new verticals for DataFast. These 2 startups have been growing steadily despite the negative trend. Note: startups are eligible if they registered on TrustMRR before February and have had 10+ payments every 30 days for the last 6 months. Data is verified from payment providers like Stripe, Creem, RevenueCat.

Indie hackers are panicking because building an app is not cool enough for people to actually care and buy their shit anymore We'll see if they finally figure out that they have to actively market it and not just rely on a few tweets and SEO

I'm not sure if that's the best conclusion, the cars are better nowadays than ever and yet not everyone is a world class driver. It's easier than ever to build apps and software and they there's so much really bad apps (user experience and what not). Same goes with making music, not everyone became Nirvana when music making capabilities are near endless today.

for the last week i have been constantly thinking how there is no point in making a lot of new apps/products claude/codex max does it better with a chat window... but not everyone has this tool... but eventually they will.. time to adapt... how to adapt? not sure yet.

Fly, Bird! Commodore 64. Released by Hokuto Force on the 18th July 2026. C64 Graphics mode = NUFLI What is NUFLI? NUFLI stands for New Underlayed Flexible Line Interpretation. It is an advanced graphics technique invented by the demoscene group Crest in 2009. Normal hi-res mode on the C64 is 320×200 pixels but only allows 2 colors in each 8×8 block. NUFLI keeps the full 320×200 resolution and lets you use more colors (typically 3 colors in every 8×2 block). It does this by combining special line tricks (called FLI) with sprites placed underneath the picture. The result is detailed, colorful images that do not flicker.

Before reporting success, validate something meaningful: the output exists, it is recent, its size is plausible, or its row count makes sense. A green monitor backed by a weak success condition is false reassurance.

It's great that you listen to users and even better that you build in open with full transparency. I have a question: when you're looking at the all internal data (not asking you to reveal it) do you see any correlation between your sales numbers (both totals and in value) drop/growth corresponding to release o major LLM versions? And if you do, would you be able to reveal the direction of changes?

My bad. When I wrote this, the only way to get in touch with a seller was to "make an offer," which required inputting a specific amount of money. Buyers ask me to make it like an inquiry instead. I built the feature 4-5 months ago, but I forgot to swap the copy. I just did it today. Thanks for the reminder :) TrustMRR is the most transparent marketplace out there. I publish as many numbers as I can, and if you ask specifics, I'll share more. Last 30 days vs. the previous 30: - 656,627 for-sale listing pageviews — up 19% - 1,699 buyer offers/inquiries — down 41% - 9,875 buyer-seller messages — down 35% - 22 successful acquisitions — up 38% I built and run this marketplace in the open for our community, so if there's any feedback, I'm open!

One SCAMMY thing @trust_mrr does is position messages as "offers". 6 offers does not mean 6 people offered an amount for your app. It means 6 people messaged you 💀 Like "Hey, what's your profit margin?" They count this as an "offer" on the website. The reason why this is scammy is because it inflates how many buyers there actually are. For instance, Glowly from @athcanft still has not been acquired yet. It lures you into buying a listing of up to a couple hundred dollars on their website. So remember, even the biggest names out here try to play you. Protect ur wallet

Don’t send "success" just because a command ran. Check the output first: row count, file age, object size, checksum, or whatever proves useful work happened. Monitoring is only as truthful as the condition behind the ping.
