Making slight adjustments to a blank size to make the part conform on different tools is actually quite basic.

Imagine knowing that the uploaded bend radius was wrong, and just telling the customer "if you don't change this, your part will come out the wrong size."🤷♂️

@OSHCutInc has the best online DFM checks for sheet metal in the world. It's not just DFM checks, though. We don't require you to worry about bend radii, bend deductions, etc. Upload your model with any bend radius. We'll just adjust it and ship a perfect-to-print part.

Build a simple rotary setup. Motor on one end and a live center/bearing on the other. You can buy er collet holders that accept a 5mm shaft for direct drive.
Turn a copper spacer that indexes the washer in the correct spot. It will also pull heat out of the weldment and protect the rod from spatter
Rigidly mount the MiG gun and use anti spatter spray + a sheet underneath keep everything easy to clean.

Dear manufacturers and engineers, we got a new RFQ recently and I would like to know how would you go about welding this 3 mm thick washer onto a 4 mm rod with MIG welding for thousands of parts reliably with precision?
Please don't suggest robotic arm. Need something more focussed to this application and low-cost.

If you’re working with some nice laser cut CRS or aluminum then use anchor lube

I get what you mean. Feels very subject dependent too. I just wish that pro model was in codex so I could do everything is one spot.
Current workflow of starting something simple from scratch or adding a new large feature is:
> talk back and forth for a while and dial in the spec in web with pro
> pro writes spec/prompt for codex and I double check it and make changes
> codex xhigh for implementation
Excited for the next model but not excited for codex limits to get smaller soon

Got on the @Makera_Inc Z1 @Kickstarter, and again Im reminded how bad of an idea it is to back these big companies on a platform like that. Purchased in November, expected delivery in January 2026. Figured a company that already makes several other CNC machines would have production rolling on a project by then, considering they had working (and tooled) models in creator hands last summer. Just got an email that my machine will be shipping in JULY. But hey, another free screwdriver that's going straight in the trash.
