Just when it seems there are no words left to describe the living hell in Gaza, a new one has been added: “famine”. This is not a mystery — it is a man-made disaster, a moral indictment and a failure of humanity itself. Famine is not only about food; it is the deliberate collapse of the systems needed for human survival. People are starving. Children are dying. And those with the duty to act are failing. As the occupying power, Israel has unequivocal obligations under international law — including the duty of ensuring food and medical supplies of the population. We cannot allow this situation to continue with impunity. No more excuses. The time for action is not tomorrow — it is now. We need an immediate ceasefire, the immediate release of all hostages and full, unfettered humanitarian access.

The confirmation of famine in Gaza City is utterly horrifying and wholly preventable. The Israeli government’s refusal to allow sufficient aid into Gaza has caused this man-made catastrophe. This is a moral outrage. My statement: gov.uk/government/new…

The UK is doing all it can to alleviate Palestinian suffering in Gaza. Today we've announced a new humanitarian aid package. This includes vital funding for @UKMed, who have already treated over 500,000 Gazans over the course of the conflict.

The suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths. Alongside 25 other partners, the UK message is clear: the war in Gaza must end now. We need an immediate ceasefire, release of all hostages and a full resumption of aid. gov.uk/government/new…

Stability in the Middle East is essential for global security. The UK did not participate in the strikes overnight, and we are engaging with partners to urge de-escalation.

Palm Sunday. As I worshipped with Ukrainian friends here in Kyiv, Russia launched ballistic missiles at the centre of Sumy, bringing horror, death and destruction on this holy day. This Easter Russia chooses not to pursue peace, but to wage its vicious war against its neighbour.

NEWS: The first £752m of a £2.26bn loan to Ukraine has been transferred. The funds will help to bolster Ukrainian military capability and will be paid back using profits generated on sanctioned Russian sovereign assets.
