@mollyfleck @jjdonkey Yes that is exactly what this group did this weekend. A CTA bar crawl. They had a schedule of when the train would be back to pick up participants at certain stations.

I heard about an anarchist collective in Europe where you paid €20 per month into a pool and then you just didn't pay transit fares and if you got fare inspected and fined they would pay your fine for you. Like a mutual insurance company.

If you're longing to retvrn to a time in Chicago with less traffic, the difference back then wasn't less people - there were more people in most neighborhoods. The difference was LESS DRIVING - less distance, less often, less car ownership. More walking & transit.

As double digit municipal tax increases are being debated by city councils around the country, it seems like a good time for this regular reminder. #reality

I’m not saying EVs aren’t part of the broader solution, but the primary goal HAS to be less driving & fewer cars. Picture tobacco companies selling “better cigarettes” as the solution (which can actually lead to MORE smoking), when we know the real solution is much less smoking.
