@SSAMAB9

Nothing to see here. Decided to reboot with a new X account and rid my feed of politics. Here to read about the Leafs, FSU football and other sports.

@DrSeanOMara Fear-mongering. That's a completely misleading leap. AF concern is for veteran high-volume endurance athletes (often 2000+ lifetime hours of intense training); not the average person doing endurance training. Don't listen to this nonsense. Keep running, keep lifting, eat healthy.

Too much of the wrong kind of exercise can be worse than exercising too little. My routine at 62 is 15 minutes of exercise every 3 days Meanwhile, distance runners logging 30+ miles a week are developing atrial fibrillation, visceral fat around the heart, and fat infiltrating their muscles.

@BringBackBabs No, Berube's system was a huge problem. They got lucky and snuck buy in year 1 winning close games and 1 playoff round, but there was no margin for error and it showed in year 2. Dump and chase doesn't work in the puck possession era. Waste of skilled players' potential.

The problem was never Marner, nor Matthews, nor the ‘core 4’. Berube wasn’t the problem, nor Treliving; hell, even Dubas and Keefe weren’t the problem, definitely not Shanny, Lou or Babs, Kadri or Hyman. The problem was always Morgan Rielly playing 20 + minutes per night.

@JamesMac_Fit Don't give them devices. Mine had them, but we saw the damage it was doing so we took them away. Their demeanor changes within 24 hours for the better.

Dads... I need your advice. As a young dad myself, I’m genuinely worried about my son growing up addicted to screens, phones, games, etc. It feels like EVERYTHING is designed to grab their attention these days. So I want to ask: - How do you actually manage screen time in your house? - What’s worked for you? - What’s failed? Would appreciate real answers from people who’ve been there 🤝

Mitch Marner was told he was the problem in Toronto for YEARS. He goes to Vegas, and he’s been the best player on a team 1 win away from the #StanleyCupFinals So, now what’s the problem in Toronto? Your scapegoat is gone!

@OilerAnalytics LOL....says a guy desperately afraid of seeing the best player in the league leave his team and sign with the Leafs. What an objective take!

Mitch Marner immediately thriving outside Toronto is exactly why no UFA should ever sign with the Leafs, and why every player should have Toronto on their no trade list.

@JeffVeillette This run proves a few things: (1) Cowan is an NHLer, but has some work to do to earn a top 6 spot and regular minutes; (2) Villeneuve deserves a serious look in camp; (3) Akhtyamov is a legit prospect to be excited about.

I’d be careful putting too much weight on this Marlies run as a sign of things to come. AHL runs translating into NHL results are a mixed bag. This year’s team is heavily built on vets and cusp-of-lineup tweeners. It’s good experience for a few guys but not a reinforcement wave.
Dynasty@Dynastija

Unbelievable how quickly things can change. A couple of months ago the Leafs were staring down the barrel of a 5-10 year rebuild with a bad GM, a bad Coach and no 1st round pick. Now...new management, new coach, 1st overall pick, 25 million in cap space, and a deep playoff run for the Marlies with renewed optimism for a few young pieces like Akhtyamov/Villeneuve/Tverberg.

@JayGold85 People criticizing the Leafs for letting Mitch Marner go (reminder: Leafs offered him a significant contract...he chose to leave) are the same people who previously criticized the Leafs for keeping the core 4 together. Haters gonna hate. Let them. It's a new era of Leafs hockey.

@JW_eats_plastic @Snizz807 @_NickRichard I'm not saying those teams didn't have holes, but when you're a star player, you still need to show up. It also doesn't change the fact the Leafs were first criticized for keeping Core 4 together and now criticized for letting Marner go (even though they tried to keep him).

@Snizz807 @SSAMAB9 @_NickRichard sure it is. by the time you reach game 6/7, teams know each other, and they're trying to attack specific areas. those leafs teams had pronounced weak spots, and they got caved. hard play on the boards, dump and forecheck, deny possession.

Mitch Marner leading the Vegas Golden Knights to a Stanley Cup in his first season after leaving Toronto is a little too on the nose, even for the Leafs.

@_NickRichard He has had his moments, but he's still a work in progress. People thinking he slots into the top 6 next year just the love the idea of the 1st rounder being there, but they'e not paying attention. He's best served developing on the third line next season with 2nd unit PP time.

Part of Easton Cowan’s game is slowing things down and dictating with the puck on his stick but I’d really like to see him play with more pace overall. Long season for him, but I’ve been underwhelmed with his play in the postseason for the Marlies.
