@NutritionIntl #Pakistan recently concluded celebrations of #WorldIodineDay 2024. Sensitization seminars, awareness walks & community activities organized with govt depts & educational institutions in 25 districts reached 7000+ participants including govt officials, community members, students & health workers about the benefits of iodized salt & its critical role in tackling iodine deficiency.

Some key opportunities discussed included forming NSSP working group, assessing the effectiveness of ongoing social protection initiatives, enhancing stakeholder understanding about social protection system & nutrition integration, exploring opportunities for pvt sector social protection initiatives & improving sector coordination

This agreement, formalized at the National Policy Dialogue on Maternal Nutrition, aims to advance the Pakistan Maternal Nutrition Strategy (PMNS) 2022-27. With significant issues like #anaemia and vitamin deficiencies among women, urgent action is needed to break the cycle of #malnutrition.
