India’s maritime innovation ecosystem continues to gain momentum with the upcoming Autonomous Maritime Shipbuilding & Systems Centre near Juvvaladinne fishing harbour in SPSR Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. Developed by Sagar Defence Engineering with support from the state government, the centre will span 29.58 acres in Phase-1 and focus on advanced maritime technologies such as Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), and AI-enabled maritime systems. The centre will house R&D, testing, MRO, and training facilities, while also generating 300+ employment opportunities, further strengthening India’s position as a hub for next-generation maritime technology.
