@TolsonKiefer @AndrewAQLD @PeteZogoulas @DrewPavlou …. For example, maybe we land in the middle. We don’t tax the existing companies more, but use our tax money to build a nationally owned and operated mine, to benefit the citizens in a scheme similar to other countries. It is a democracy after all

@TolsonKiefer @AndrewAQLD @PeteZogoulas @DrewPavlou But applying the same rules to completely different situations is also not always effective. If Other countries are making more money for their own people, from our resources, then clearly something needs to change. Even if his ideas are not perfect, at least it highlights issues

The results are in!! Two wogs and an iPhone are more influential than: The billionaires bankrolling David Pocock and the Australia Institute, the Greens, Big Renewable, and the entire left-wing media ecosystem. Absolute legends. Well done @PeteZogoulas and @DrewPavlou. The turns be tabling.

Appalled but not surprised to see govt caving to the gas companies. This just makes me more determined to go harder on our campaign to get a fair return on our gas through a 25% tax on gas export revenue. Head to ourgas.com.au to add your voice. abc.net.au/news/2026-04-2…

@CJHandmer One last one. The cherry on the cake. Probably cost : 2B. Now, An extra 18 Billion to MAYBE build a railroad. The most simple and easily understood transport solution, that people were creating more efficiently hundreds of years ago. That’s the “bar” aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_…

Not content with kicking the hornet's nest just once, I have written another post about Australian policy, this time on its failure to aggressively modernize its defense force in response to four years of data from Ukraine and other contemporary theaters. Somehow, Australia manages to spend more on defense every year than the entire cost of the Manhattan project and produces essentially no determinative weapons systems internally. caseyhandmer.wordpress.com/2026/04/21/aus…

When I was in Australia last December, I found it impossible to transact with any business where there weren't latent government price controls or subsidies of some kind. I came to the realization that with the public sector growing about 5x faster than the private sector, Australia was well on the way to an effectively government run economy, communism by stealth. I dug deeper - the point of no return occurred in about 2013. caseyhandmer.wordpress.com/2026/04/16/aus…

@CJHandmer We gave PNG 600 Million dollars for a “rugby team” - which is our lame attempt to bribe the country into having some loyalty to us since we failed to keep them close - so china strengthened ties. reuters.com/sports/papua-n…

@CJHandmer Hi there Casey, I appreciate your work and honestly have been validated by your writing. People do not understand just how ridiculous it’s getting here. I am going to comment some articles below, just to show you a few select examples of where the bar is set in GOV

@gothburz Now, something else to factor in, is that our laws around superannuation, mean that there is no way you can EVER hold your superannuation company accountable. For example, if they charge you $400 per “trade fee” - and trade 20X per day. You are done. No recourse. All legal

@gothburz That $300,000 is an “entry fee” before anyone has a bed to sleep in. That’s just an upfront cost. There goes a LARGE amount of your super annuation. Then, you pay $34,000 per year (on average). So you are looking at $334,000 taken straight away from your super. Contd

63% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. They know they should save. They know the formulas. Australia fixed this in 1992. Changed the defaults. Coverage went from 42% to 92% in 2 years. Nobody became more disciplined. Nobody learned more about compound interest. So why hasn't America done the same thing? Consumer spending is 70% of GDP. Every dollar saved is a dollar not spent. The economy doesn't tolerate mass non-saving. It requires it. We describe as individual failure what is actually collective architecture.

@adamlsteinl It would be interesting to take the best models, explain to them how you are monitoring them / catching them cheating, and then run the benchmarks. To see if they actually invent new strategies and workarounds.

We found widespread cheating on popular agent benchmarks, affecting 28+ submissions across 9 benchmarks and thousands of agent runs. Surprisingly, the top 3 submissions on Terminal-Bench 2 are all cheating! Here's what we found 🧵

@Object_Zero_ Hey Zero - I am interested in your thoughts on Filippo Biondis work on deep scans. He uses satellite-based Synthetic Aperture Radar, combined with Doppler tomography. And these micro movements are what create the “structure outline” of underground objects. Is it viable ? :)

This is very believable to me. 12-13 years ago I built a laser interferometry system that collected PB of data (2GB/s) and I built a rocks HPC cluster and trained neural nets to predict multiphase flow rates inside oil and gas pipelines from 2-3 miles away. This was before transformers so it was very hard, but managed to get it working with a tonne of reference data that we collected at NEL. Bought some German SWIR laser interferometers, and stuffed the beams through long fiber optic loops to get huge Fabry-Perot distances, and we had insane picometer/second accuracy on surface velocity or space-time vibration (depending on your reference frame), we had 3.2 million samples/second so could get out to 1.6MHz on our FFT. We creating insanely high fidelity multispectral spectrograms (frequency, time, power), and this was the training data we used to train our very crude AI to predict physical reality. We could detect a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. it was Star Trek sensor tech.

NEW: The CIA used a secret tool called "Ghost Murmur" that uses AI to find heartbeats to rescue the U.S. airman who was stranded in Iran, according to the New York Post. The secret technology was allegedly used for the first time in the field, according to the Post. "The secret technology uses long-range quantum magnetometry to find the electromagnetic fingerprint of a human heartbeat and pairs the data with artificial intelligence software to isolate the signature from background noise," the Post reported. "It’s like hearing a voice in a stadium, except the stadium is a thousand square miles of desert," the source said. "In the right conditions, if your heart is beating, we will find you." "The name is deliberate. ‘Murmur’ is a clinical term for a heart rhythm. ‘Ghost’ refers to finding someone who, for all practical purposes, has disappeared..." "Advances in a field known as quantum magnetometry, specifically sensors built around microscopic defects in synthetic diamonds, have apparently made it possible to detect these signals at dramatically greater distances." CIA Director John Ratcliffe appeared to hint at this technology on Monday, saying the CIA possessed "unique capabilities" but said he couldn't "tell you everything that you want to know." President Trump also revealed during the press conference that the CIA spotted the officer from about "40 miles away." Insane.

@helloitsaustin @AnthropicAI Hi there Austin, I was wondering if you have a “workflow” / “tool caller” workflow that you recommend for beginner’s ? The only thing I’ve seen that seems quite simple is N8N but even that seems expensive and not too beginner friendly.

some more ramblings from working at @AnthropicAI. I've been asked a few times what the single most important thing a growth marketer should be doing with AI that most aren't. surprise, it's not just a single specific task. after running dozens of growth workflows through Claude, I think the useful stuff worth doing falls along four dimensions 🧵

Some people believe their quality of life will always be higher in a richer country. But our quality of life is made up of two parts: 1. Quality of comfort (convenience in daily life) 2. Sense of belonging (purpose and long-term potential). A poor country that gives its people a future will always be more livable than a rich country that erodes its people’s hope.

@Koukoumidis Can it work alongside and agent / in a workflow so it does its very specific job but is also used as a “tool” by an agent ? Would be awesome if you expanded this to “build your own AI and Agent” 🥺🥺
