Unemployment rate: 4.3%. Total labor misalignment: 72%. Unemployed: 7.2 million. Underemployed: 4.5 million. 6 million more aren't actively searching. Misemployed: 110 million. 69%. psychologically checked out (52%) or actively resentful of their jobs (17%). 122 million. 72%. Real story is much bigger than 4.3%.

sam altman: "many current jobs will go away, but we will find a lot of new ones" idk, but if we reach true AGI, any new jobs created will likely be done by that same AGI system so if sam thinks humans will still have work, he needs to explain what those jobs are and why only humans can do them because if AGI can't do it, maybe it's not true AGI

Narrative violation and great insight from the latest Citadel Securities banger by Frank Flight: "We illustrated back in February that demand for software engineers, the most AI exposed occupation was accelerating higher, which we argued violates the displacement narrative. Indeed the acceleration in software job postings has continued, now up 18% from the inflection point in May last year."
