If you let people charge you a lot of money as a startup, they will take you for everything they can get. Spending 2 months cutting costs is super underrated but comes at odds w feature development.

Dr. Andrew Huberman shares insights on how to beat seasonal depression. To combat seasonal depression, you can manipulate your exposure to light, particularly in the morning. Here's how: 1. Extend the amount of bright light you're getting in the morning as days get shorter. This can be done by finding an artificial light source to look at in the morning before you leave your home. Aim for about 2-3 minutes of bright light exposure as you transition into winter. 2. You don't need a specialized seasonal depression lamp. An affordable alternative is a 900 lux drawing tablet. Place it on your desk or wherever you make your coffee in the morning, about 90 minutes after you wake up. Spend about 5 minutes in its light before you leave the house. 3. As winter progresses, you don't need to increase the duration of exposure every day. Instead, you can hold the light source a little bit closer each day. This tricks your melatonin system into thinking that the days are getting longer instead of shorter. Remember, don't put the light source directly against your eyeball. If you can't get a 900 lux tablet, any bright incandescent bulb should work. To ask, explore, and search all 150+ episodes of the Huberman Lab podcast go to dexa.ai/huberman

@rauchg @vercel 1. Speeding up Yarn monorepo installs (over 2 minutes) because of big/slow packages not in the same package as the website. 2. Having to cd to root to run Turborepo. (Or running from root and then having to change the build output setting)

@SamRCharles @vercel Most setups are already effectively this, since the default is to detect package.json and run the `build` script. That said, I’ve heard some ideas around adding settings to `vercel.json` Can you tell me more about your case? Thanks!

Hey @rauchg, any chance you guys could apply "code over configuration" to the @vercel build and install settings? Feels ludicrous to change something so important on a random webpage that's not in version control.

If you actually waited for the CDC to give you permission to stop wearing a mask outdoors after you’ve been vaccinated, you have no shot of becoming an entrepreneur. Keep your day job.

@MightyApp is like sshing into a superpowered browser. It's similar to Dropbox being a superpowered rsync.

I'm excited to try @MightyApp — congrats on the launch @Suhail. A faster browser that's less demanding on my laptop sounds excellent. So much of the negativity sounds similar to the old "I don't need Dropbox; I have a thumb drive" argument.

@Jason You should set a reminder to follow up on this tweet in a couple of years. You're almost definitely right, but hopefully the woke mob will be gone by then.

Politics at work, & specifically on SLACK/Discord/forums, is a road to suffering & distraction in today’s toxic environment I’ve advised startups to not allow these discussions on chat platforms & mailing lists, where people quickly lose their minds/manners. In person only!

Cutting the benefits is also a smart move. I've always wondered why companies felt the need to tell their employees how to spend their money. Was it just a hiring perk gone wrong?
