Vets have been in the news a lot lately for their extortionate pricing.
We are a captive market for them. Pet owners will never let their animals suffer, and will pay thousands for a procedure to save their Dog's life - even if not covered by insurance.
Prescriptions have been limited from today to £21 for pet medications, but this is just the tip of the iceberg.
I've heard of dog owners paying upwards of £20k for chemo, which has a very low rate of success in dogs.
Do we need to heavily regulate the veterinary industry as it seems to have become a licensed arm of Big Pharma?
Do you have any stories of expensive visits to the Vets?

When I moved to the UK in 2019, I paid £45 a month for electricity. I now pay £185. Every 2-3 months I get an email from my supplier raising my direct debit by a few pounds

This could have been avoided. Failure to insulate every home, end reliance on fossil fuels & decouple energy prices from gas left us exposed to energy shocks. Now we must act: Cap bill rises after June. End fossil fuel addiction. Lower bills, permanently.

When looking for a specialist or surgeon for any procedure, don't fall into the trap of looking for one whose statistics show they are "The best in their field."
No such Surgeon exists.
What happens is surgeons choose elective, easy procedures with uncomplicated cases, to manipulate the league tables.
Also, the surgeon you get with private medical insurance, is the same one you'd get in the NHS.
Private can be quicker, but it's rarely better.

.@captainjustic14. Sigh. Shifting the clock does not alter the amount of daylight. It just changes the time at which you start and finish work or school. If you wish to leave work earlier, arrange to start work earlier. But don't force me to do the same.
