@Woodguy55 I'd like to see this with coaches and top line combos. Reasoning is I believe oiler coaches become complacent when they have a good top line over using it. The bottom six suffers from lack of involvement and are expected to play same style as top lines

@DougHMcLachlan @JonathanWillis He’ll have Arb rights if he plays in 10 pro gms this season (NHL or AHL). We currently don’t display him as having Arb rights because he still needs to play in those gms. But the moment he’s played in 10 gms the system will immediately add the gavel next to his name.

Let's try that again: the Oilers took advantage of their significant leverage over Yamamoto to extract a cheap one-year contract (which is smart). He'll still be under control for three years next summer, but will have arb rights and more say on things.

My *hot* hockey take is that Mcdavid should be absolutely buried in the defensive zone. He can flip shots and goals >50% no matter who he plays with or where he starts. This would free up line 3 and 4 for easier offensive zone minutes.

Lots of cynicism out there about this but let's not forget that the coaching staff put Turris in a position to fail. He had a 63 OZS% for a Nashville team which knew he was an offensive specialist. Then Dave Tippett threw him into Riley Sheahan minutes, with predictable results.
