@aileenmachell Wow! Thanks for all your work to benefit British Columbians - and particularly for your efforts in helping Prince George access government for important conversations and resources. Good luck on the next challenge and hope we'll keep in touch... we will keep in touch!

4/4 I’m grateful to @ckpgnews for inviting me to participate in this conversation alongside leaders from across the political spectrum and news media, including, @Dave_Eby , @shirleybond , @JohnRustad4BC , @taylorbachrach , @KevinFalcon , @GlobalBC @keithbaldrey , & @AdamBerls
English

1/4 @ckpgnews put together a one-hour special on the growing division in politics – A topic that I think couldn’t be more timely.
They taped it back in July, but it sure rings true today.
I’d encourage you to tune in!

Well. So, the BC Liberals (who were kinda conservative) changed their name to BC United, but they forgot to tell anyone. Meanwhile, the BC Conservatives (who were kinda fringe) rode the federal conservative's populist coattails to reach a place where people seem to have conflated the two. Lots of people have fallen out of love with Trudeau so the federal conservatives are presently more popular.
This means that the ex-Liberals (who were incumbent for much of the 2000s-2010s) have now largely been eclipsed by the (seemingly climate change-denying) BC conservatives. But still, no one really knows who the BC United party are, and they are generally wondering where the Liberals went (who, incidentally, had nothing to do with Trudeau' Federal Liberals and were far closer to the Federal Conservatives in most policies.)
In fact, the citizenry of BC is so confused that the BC United (ex-Liberals, ex-parrots) have just dropped out of the election, and some candidates are switching from the BC United (sounds like a soccer team and probably also only have 11 players left) over to the BC conservatives (the fringe guys, who had a better name)
Ultimately, this means BC has no middle party, just the NDP (present incumbents) and the BC Conservatives (who were kinda fringe but are now something else?)
I have absolutely no idea who is in charge anymore and I get to vote for either a gazillion dollars of tax or climate-change deniers.
Send help.

I am fairly Twitter-absent, but tonight I was reflecting back on my favourite Twitter experience...
That one time during lockdown when our entire community, those who want to be us... and KISS, came together to support Mr.PG against those goats and @j_mcelroy

Today’s news in #bcpoli has me coming out of Twitirement.
@shirleybond’s legacy: BC’s hardest working MLA. Her absence fighting for the North in the leg will be huge.
More of my thoughts:

@sylviamasich Hey Funchaser!
It’s been since 2009/10 for me and I still get it!…
Even better, my fave is when people say: “I love listening to you and your show on the radio!”
I say: “when was the last time you listened!?”
They say: “uhhhhm….”
… it’s been 7 years since I left 😂

@CadenFanshaw @DaneGreenwell Also, just got word that while the asphalt cures, ONLY The Cure will be played on the construction site. That’s a promise.

@CadenFanshaw @DaneGreenwell Original opening date was slated for after Labour Day weekend, but as of right now it is looking a bit ahead of schedule! Next up is paving, which requires a lengthy curing process before the sport surface can be installed, but while it cures other site works will take place!
English

@JennXForests @RylanGraham Absolutely. I mentioned both fuel and ridership increases. I believe, but am not absolutely certain, that BC Transit would consider a transition fuel source like CNG to bridge the time for the transition to electric, but I’d rather just advocate to get us bumped up on transition.
English

@SampsonKyle @RylanGraham 100% better service first. If we build it people will ride, currently you can almost walk faster to any place in the bowl. I asked because you specifically mentioned fuel on the air quality question and LNG is not a solution to that or the climate.
English

@JennXForests @RylanGraham That said, I think the more important focus is creating a more attractive service, vs what fuel source our busses run on to make the most GhG reducing impact, because a more attractive service is what will get more ridership and getting people out of their cars and into busses.
English

@RylanGraham I really want to know more about @SampsonKyle comment about updating our buses to more climate friendly fuels. I hope he didn't mean LNG? We have to get our busses on the electric grid!
