@Hogvalord @BecomingCaptain Yes it's definitely over , it's plenty of gurus getting interactions with useless advices, with accounts that probably are old , but with new accounts and new projects you will have 0 reach no matter how good your content is

@TeekoGame Yes and it happens everywhere! In the entrepreneurship sector in general, several accounts getting engagement on 'Mutual support, promote your business' type posts. The sad part is that they get hundreds of interactions, while you get none after months of working on something.

@apcrol @aeterponis Even worse than IG ? It's a shame cause Twitter used to be the best place to make connections , interact with other developers etc ... But it feels a lonely place now 😵‍💫

You'll see a lot of "indie game gurus" on Reddit, X, and even on Instagram. They all say the exact same thing: "Just market your game, build a community, post shorts, be active everywhere." And yeah, you should do that. But let's be real for a second. If you're starting from zero no audience from past projects, no big streamer friends, and no marketing budget the fail rate is always going to be higher than the success rate. Even if you have a good game There is no formula for living the indie dream just try to Make a good game, do whatever is in your power for marketing, and pray to the algorithm gods.🎲

@aeterponis Social media used to be useful as a promotion tool , but nowadays for new accounts they are : "You better bring your audience on your own cause we are not gonna show your content to anyone, we only care about big accounts and viral content. " And people don't interact anymore.

@pixelnasu Yes that's true , but it seems really hard to reach players here , honestly I've been years without using this platform, and now it seems harder than ever to get noticed even by fellow game devs. IG seems impossible too. New accounts have literally 0 reach

Might just be me, but I feel like people marketing on Twitter are often marketing to other game developers and NOT the audience for your game. This is why I prefer YT Shorts/Reels since I get more visibility and can actually make things for an audience. Pic unrelated (cat)

@BluebriarArts Most of the answers actually imply some kind of monster, just that the player won't see or face it . Please don't add sounds and random things without a purpose , you have to think what's the horrible truth that is chasing the player , and the environment just a consequence
