❗️ALARMING❗️ This is the murder of democracy in broad daylight. CCTV footage has exposed how @BJP4India, in active collusion with the @ECISVEEP, is opening ballot boxes without the presence of any relevant party stakeholders. This is gross electoral fraud being committed openly with the full knowledge and protection of the Election Commission. They have tried every dirty trick, name deletion, voter intimidation, Central Force terror, cash flooding, and failed miserably. Now, in sheer desperation, they have stooped to tampering with EVMs. But Bengal is not Maharashtra, Delhi, or Bihar. We will not sit silently and watch them loot our democracy. Our leaders Smt. @DrShashiPanja and Shri @KunalGhoshAgain have already begun a dharna outside Netaji Indoor Stadium. Smt. @MamataOfficial will personally visit the spot and take stock of the situation. The people of Bengal are watching this daylight robbery. We will not allow the Delhi Zamindars and their puppet Election Commission to steal the mandate of the people.

Central Forces under Amit Shah have become BJP’s PRIVATE ARMY- A gang of licensed thugs unleashed on the people of Bengal. In Udaynarayanpur, an elderly man went to cast his vote with his son. Too frail to walk unaided, his son tried to help him into the booth. Central Forces pushed and manhandled both. The old man collapsed, was rushed to Amta Hospital and declared dead on arrival. Since dawn, these Central Forces have been terrorising ordinary citizens- slapping women, assaulting the elderly, attacking even children. This is the SITALKUCHI MENTALITY of 2021: cold-blooded, merciless violence against unarmed civilians. BJP paid a heavy price for the blood of innocents in 2021. They will pay an even heavier price in 2026. And to the JALLADS roaming Bengal: it doesn’t matter which state you come from. It doesn’t matter whose political patronage shields you. Every single one of you involved in this barbarism will be hunted down and made to face the full force of the law. Your reign of terror will end in total ruin.

This vote is for the Bengal we love. For its people, its spirit, its shared future. I urge everyone to vote with courage and conviction. Let your vote firmly reject the harassment people faced in the name of long lines for petty politics.

Even after this, if there is an incident, it is not the responsibility of Mamata Banerjee, because now the whole administration is under the control of Gyanesh Kumar. Those who were once banished from their own home state and declared ‘tadipar’ are now coming to Bengal and openly threatening our people to stay indoors on 23rd and 29th. Following their leader’s cue, BJP’s লেঠেল বাহিনী is going door-to-door, terrorising ordinary citizens and threatening Trinamool Congress workers. It has come to my notice that these goondas barged into the residence of a Trinamool Congress supporter in Sabang, Sathi Gorai Kuila, and abused and intimidated her in the presence of her two-year-old daughter. BJP, drunk on arrogance, seems to believe that bullets and terror can achieve what ballots cannot. But Bengal has the perfect antidote. And that antidote will be administered democratically, by the people themselves. I openly challenge the Bangla-Birodhi Bohiragotos to be here, in Bengal, on the 4th of May, when that happens. It is deeply unfortunate that the Prime Minister chose to mislead the nation rather than address it honestly. Let me put this on record. Trinamool Congress has always championed higher political representation for women. We have the highest proportion of female elected representatives in both Parliament and the State Legislature. In the Lok Sabha, 37.9% of our elected members are women. In the Rajya Sabha, we have nominated 46% women members.The question of opposing Women's Reservation does not arise and never has. What we are fundamentally opposed to is the Delimitation exercise that the Modi Government was plotting to push through by using women as a shield for its vested political agenda. What we are fundamentally opposed to is the altering of Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution, the division of this nation and the usurpation of power through gerrymandering, by redrawing political contours to hand greater representation to BJP-ruled states at the expense of others. This is an assault on federal democracy. And we will not watch it happen in silence. If this government was genuinely serious about this noble cause, why did it wait nearly three years after the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill on September 28, 2023? Why rush it through when several states are in election? And why couple it with Delimitation? Trinamool Congress has stood for women for decades. We will continue to. But we will not be lectured on a subject that the ruling dispensation neither understands nor respects. And Mr. Prime Minister, the next time you address the nation, have the courage to do so from the Floor of Parliament, where you are subject to scrutiny, challenge and accountability. What you did yesterday was cowardly, hypocritical and fork-tongued. You can feel power slipping through your fingers. And you are prepared to go to any extent to hold on for just a little while longer. That is all this was.

The fallout from the defeat of the Delimitation Bill in the Lok Sabha is exposing the BJP’s discomfort for all to see. The Women’s Reservation Act guaranteeing 33 % reservation for women has been in force since 16 April 2026. It was passed unanimously in September 2023. If the NDA government is serious, it should immediately bring forward the bill to notify one third of the seats. DO IT NOW! @AITCofficial has not just supported this in principle but exceeded it in reality, with over 41 % women’s representation in Parliament. The Constitutional 131st Amendment Bill 2026 has been rejected by INDIA. The attempt to expand the Lok Sabha to 850 seats and push delimitation based on the 2011 Census raised serious concerns about fairness and balance. The NDA government is clearly on borrowed time and the illusion of control is beginning to crumble in plain sight!

The arrest of Vinesh Chandel, co-founder of I-PAC, barely 10 days before the Bengal elections, is not just alarming- It shakes the very idea of a level playing field. At a time when WB should be moving toward free and fair elections, this kind of action sends a chilling message: If you work with the opposition, you could be next. That’s not democracy- that’s intimidation! What makes it even harder to ignore is the double standard. Those facing serious corruption allegations seem to find protection the moment they switch sides, while others are swiftly targeted at politically convenient moments. People are not blind to this anymore. When institutions meant to protect democracy start feeling like tools of pressure, trust begins to erode. On one side, the Election Commission. On the other, agencies like the ED, NIA, CBI stepping in at the most sensitive time. It creates an atmosphere of fear, not fairness. India has always taken pride in its democracy- loud, messy but free. But today, many are beginning to ask: are we still that country? This is bigger than one arrest. It is about whether our institutions remain independent and whether every citizen, no matter their political belief, can participate without fear. Because once fear replaces freedom, democracy becomes just a word. To Amit Shah and the BJP’s power structure- Be in Bengal on the 4th and 5th of May. Come with Gyanesh Kumar and every agency you deploy. Bengal will not be bullied, will not be silenced and will not bow. This is a land that answers pressure with resistance and it will show you exactly what that means!

I see no difference between those who vandalised Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar's bust and those who vandalised Buddha statues in Afghanistan. The contempt is identical. Only the geography has changed. So fierce is BJP's hatred for Bengal that they seek to bow this land into subjugation through TYRANNY, COERCION, INTIMIDATION, and HUMILIATION. But they do not know Bengal. Bengal is a free land.
