@drlaurenfaber I keep a doc- it's a great tip. You can also shorten the link to your doc into a bit.ly format so that you can easily access it from any computer in the hospital to dictate!

As surgeons, we must recognize when our patient is under-anesthetized, stop operating (when safe to pause), & wait for anesthesia to achieve good pain control. Insist on this for the sake of your pt. Obstetrical trauma/PTSD is far too common and it’s our job to combat it.

I will say something on it from a patient standpoint. I had an epidural. I was in labor. The fetus was in distress so they took me for a crash C-section. They wanted to intubate me but I was scared & I refused. I felt everything.

A person isn’t a “problem” just because they’re homeless. The problem is they don’t have a home. TTC riders can request a “wellness check”. That’s helpful. But adding “homeless” to this list of problems is wrong, discriminatory & doesn’t make anyone safer.
