I understand why I’m getting asked this.. I didn’t get into this line of work to be the bedroom police or the journalism ethics police and I’m uncomfortable being any sort of arbiter in that role. My first thought when people get accused of something, even if they allegedly did something bad, is to feel bad for them and their families. That being said, I’ve obviously been thinking about this situation a lot and the only conclusion I feel comfortable stating publicly is that the photos and eyewitnesses had to originate from a targeted private investigator because there’s not random paparazzi just hanging out in Arizona.

The Hasan Newsom stuff is another reason I hate primaries. The time to have this battle is in the primary and then you get behind the winner even if it’s not who you want, but Hasan is basically saying the primary doesn’t matter to him and if tens of millions of Democratic voters go a different way than he, then he’s out. Why even have a primary then if there’s no agreement to get behind the winner?
