People across India remember & pay our tribute to Dr. Gadgil - a scientist who chose truth over convenience and people over profit. A voice for: - social and ecological justice - development without care is destruction. May his vision continue to inspire our path #MadhavGadgil

Citizens hope that in the ongoing winter session, our MPs will demand that the 20 Nov 2025 Supreme Court order be 'recalled' as this judgement risks opening 90% of the 692 km Aravalli range for mining. @RahulGandhi @priyankagandhi @DeependerSHooda @digvijaya_28 @Jairam_Ramesh
Delhi Youth Congress@DelhiPYC

At the “Clean Air – My Right” Convention, @nahluwalia20 highlighted how the destruction of the Aravalli Range is directly worsening air pollution and public health in Delhi–NCR. As our natural shield is weakened, people are left to breathe toxic air. Through this platform by IYC, science and facts are being put before power. Protect the Aravallis. Protect our right to clean air. #CleanAirMyRight

Uniform definition of Aravallis accepted by Supreme Court will be catastrophic for India’s oldest mountain range, write Neelam Ahluwalia and Ghazala Shahabuddin shorturl.at/agLPI

Recent Supreme Court order on Aravalli range will potentially result in 'losing the hills less than 100 metres to mining' which will intensify climate risk, pollution, water scarcity, desertification impacting millions of people living in North West India indianexpress.com/article/cities…

Haryana has lowest forest cover in India: a mere 3.6% as compared to national average of 20%, 8 of 50 most polluted places globally, is extremely water stressed+climate sensitive. How will millions of people living here survive if more forests are taken out of legal protection?

Haryana's new definition of ‘forests’ will end up excluding the state's Open Natural Ecosystems & large portions of un-notified Aravalli forests from legal protection. In a semi-arid state like Haryana, climatic conditions do not support having forests with 40% canopy density.

XPLORE: Why Haryana’s ‘dictionary’ definition of forest is debatable, Haryana Govt defines forest as per ‘dictionary’ meaning; environmentalists argue Aravalli forests will be exposed

@lifeindia2016 Courts asking citizens to deposit money to intervene in public interest litigation matters is a huge barrier to justice. Today, this order has been passed by SC in the #SaveDelhiNCRDogs matter. Tomorrow, the courts can apply this for all ecological & social justice issues.

Legal Initiative for Forest and Environment
Compassion towards animals is part of the fundamental duty of every citizen (Art. 51A(g)) irrespective of whether one is an animal lover or not. Insisting on deposit for approaching the court creates another hurdle in access to justice.

Siang Upper Multipurpose project is proposed in Seismic Zone 5 with threat of dam triggered earthquakes, flooding etc. Glacial Lake Outburst Flooding is an imminent threat due to #climatechange induced rapid glacier melting of Siang & Dibang rivers in Arunachal. #StandWithSiang

#StandWithSiang 1.5 lakh people from indigenous tribes in North East India will lose their ancestral homes+lands+livelihoods+heritage sites by proposed 11000 MW mega dam on Siang river that will submerge 27 villages & cause irreversible ecological damage. This is unacceptable😡
