@TraditionSarah also when seen by private doctors for referrals the va sometimes threatens them when they write or submit documents to assist their patients.

Are we ready to talk about the real scam when it comes to VA disability. VA providers refusing to sign DBQs and provide nexus letters for patients they’ve seen for YEARS, leading to the veteran having to seek second opinions outside of the VA system (which cost money) just to potentially get a rating for a condition that’s well documented within the VA system with a provider they have tenure with. Conflict of interest my ass.

Disability is mostly fake. Huge numbers of people (veterans and non) pretend "ow, my back hurts" and the rest of us pay for them to retire at 35 years old. It's disgusting.
MatrixMysteries@MatrixMysteries

A married couple revealed their government checks. “$142,000 a year.” From disability. $4,700 a month for her. $7,200 a month for him. What does it say about the system when they’re making more doing nothing than the taxpayers working to fund it.

There are over 30,000 vets who will never receive VA benefits since 2003. That's because they died from suicide from a war 99% of the US didn't serve in. That's on top of the over 7,000 that were shot to death, blown up or otherwise killed in war. But fraud.....

@wslack also the comment that those of us that disagree are taking advantage of the system. so no. he is not saying some. no he is not saying people have legit issues. if he does not agree with the diagnosis or rating it is fraud.

@ScareOBG There are certainly people who likely don't think their condition merits benefits even though they are eligible, and there are people who will tell doctors whatever they need to to get a higher rating. All of that is separate from benefits for people who never saw action.

@wslack 100% read the comments. if you and he do not agree with what they were rated for it is fraud. you and him do not have access to the medical records of any of these people. you have zero leg to stand on condemning them for rating for mental health and other no visible ratings.

This response is so weird. In fact, all the responses I've seen so far about veteran benefits being abused are so weird. Fraud is fraud is fraud. Small, large. It's still wrong. We can acknowledge that veterans are often left behind by the system while simultaneously admitting that shitbags abuse the VA and probably do it at high rates. I know it's more comfortable to believe EVERYONE in the military is there for noble reasons and therefore they must be defended at all costs. But that isn't the case. And a lot of people only give a shit about themselves. Hence why they're fine abusing a system that's there to support actual servicemen and women who have real claims of injury/trauma/etc. "Well, you can't comment on fraud because YOU don't serve in the military" is about as retarded a position as you can take.
autocorrect2.0@autocorrect2_0

Less than 1% of the population ever serves in the military. So maybe hush about VA benefits when you couldn’t be bothered

I’m a 100% disabled vet…while I served it was common knowledge within my career field that you answer “no” to every question on the mental health screenings (do you know how much of the military apparently has never had alcohol or smoked according to documentation💀) you didn’t seek help because if you did, you couldn’t do your job anymore…(even temporarily) if you couldn’t do your job you were useless…trash…. couldn’t hack it…better off just not being here….(insert massive and growing active duty suicide number here) and yeah that might sound like overkill…when you see someone actually try to get help and then you’re sitting in the room listening to the way leadership refers to them after…it’s no exaggeration. You decide it’s best not to take that route and just gut it. So i compartmentalized and pushed it all aside….i stood over DOAs (dead on arrival) and contemplated lunch/dinner with my coworkers….i wiped human remains off of the bottoms of my shoes and out of the floorboards of my car…i cut down the dead bodies…collected body parts….I carried the bodies of my fiends. Of peoples Children. Fathers. Mothers. I performed CPR on people who would never make it but at least it showed the family that I did EVERYTHING I COULD…I could at least do that much for them….I told families their loved ones were never coming home…. This isn’t even half of it… I didn’t lie on my claim, everything has been documented and diagnosed by medical professionals. It was a long, painstaking, and mentally draining process (a process I’ve gone through twice)….heavy on the mentally draining because breaking the habit of just saying “I’m ok, I’m fine” is something I still struggle with to this day. You see on social media what I allow you to see. I’m not going to show you my worst days I’m not even going to show you my mildly bad days. Is there fraud? Definitely. I’ve seen some people I personally thought were undeserving gain ratings far beyond what they experienced and brag about it…but that was extremely rare…. it’s not some rampant scam….you see me and I look physically fine, normal even? Why? because I’m not missing limbs? I have no scars? I have plenty of friends that are in that position, I can point you in their direction. That doesn’t mean I’m not missing parts of myself…that I don’t have scars…it’s just not as obvious. I’ll never get back the girl who proudly got a cool backpack (I never even used that thing my mom stole it I think) and saw a future for herself when she signed a couple documents and raised her right hand. I would also never take back doing so. If you weren’t willing to raise your hand….learn to shut your mouth.

@wslack @BradD80 @Itsjoeco @No_Strike_List again, these are reviewed rather deeply and yiu have to have proof to get a rating. there are very clear va guidelines on what can be rated what. to act like all vets scam the system is ridiculous.

@ScareOBG @BradD80 @Itsjoeco @No_Strike_List I think Brad's point is that while any specific case can't be litigated by tweet, he's seen fraudulent patterns of behavior by large groups of people, and that merits investigation. (Such as, people are proactively finding/pitching vets to apply to get commission on them.)

@commondefense Newsflash, you can lie about anxiety and ptsd and there isn't a way to prove it. You can have neither, you can pretend you do, then collect thousands a month for life. That's called FRAUD. Get real.

Low morale is a leadership issue. Low morale is usually caused by poor leadership decisions. Down playing what led to low morale makes it worse. Commanders needs to accept responsibility and an effort to do better in the future. I once heard a Commander state that low morale is a personal problem. No, it is a command problem.

@zacharyebell @Fat_Electrician @sircalebhammer You're the one who doesn't understand it. The official purpose is same as state worker comp i.e. replace lost earning capacity from work related conditions/injury events. The issue with VA is it's almost always fraudulent as corrupt pols try to buy votes with other ppl's money.

@zacharyebell @Hunyadi_at_Noon @Fat_Electrician @sircalebhammer Well it definitely should. 4k a month for 40 years is $1,920,000. If you have a fully disabled child the max you can receive is $967 a month. Plus 1 parent probably can’t work because of their child’s disability. But Shane Gillis can get $2 million because he feels sad sometimes
