@HiddenXperia @TechnicalHalo Yeah this is my biggest issue with the remade missions so far. Cutscenes look blurry and washed out. Always prefer realtime in-engine cutscenes for reasons like this. Takes you out of it.

@TechnicalHalo when i checked the files i was legit shocked they're still rendering the cutscenes in 1080p, and you can really tell at certain points it's 2026... why are they not done in 4k????

Cutscenes are 4k30 on YouTube (upscaled? or native) but game files are 1920x822p30 mp4, 21:9. Should’ve used Bink

@SynthPotato I totally agree it looks blurry. I turned up contrast and turned off motion blur which helped but still an issue. Pre-rendered cutscenes are smudgy as well sadly.

Played Halo Campaign Evolved for a couple of hours and enjoying it so far! It honestly feels almost identical to the original, I expected it to be more different as a remake but they definitely held back on changing things up and kept it faithful. I do have one complaint so far, the game is very blurry on PS5 Pro in performance mode. It seems like PSSR is not in use at all which makes the game look really rough by the console’s standards, no clue why they didn’t use PSSR here.

@dark1x Yayyy I’m enjoying it too. I actually love going back to the feel of the Reach engine. Shooting the needle rifle in the prequel missions just feels so right.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is now playable to everyone who owns the disc. Footage has been getting posted all day. People who bought the game digitally will have to wait until tomorrow, and anyone who bought the standard edition will have to wait until Jul. 28th.

@jawainadalek @DestinLegarie To be fair, he was the director on Destiny 1, which did lay the framework for the next 13 years. HOWEVER he did have a reported reputation for coming and going seemingly as he pleased, even during pivotal moments in the studio’s history (abandoned the team during Halo 3)
