@mypalal Almost nobody owes Nolan anything. On top.of that, there is no rational or reasonable reason for anyone to do Nolan a favor. The ONLY reason to see this movie more than once, outside of personal enjoyment, is if you want to hand Nolan or the company money for abother film.

My job is not to read all the review and regurgitate what everyone else is saying. It’s to give my opinion even if it means I’m the outlier. This would not be the first time. Enjoy the film. Please do Nolan a favor and watch it three or four times this weekend.

@mynerdyhome The issue with giving actors lots of money is that many of them believe that just reading the lines and acting out the notes is not their job and that their own opinions about completely irrelevant things to anything they have expertise on matters.

The good news for The Odyssey is that search interest is rising on Google before the release of the movie. The bad news is that the rising searches are about the backlash and who plays Sinon (Elliot Page) in the movie rather than positive curiosity about the movie. This means that the negative narrative has taken over the conversation about the movie and the interest among internet users. These are people who are looking to confirm their negative opinions or see how bad it is, and these rarely convert to actual ticket sales. It's basically the WRONG kind of attention you want. Combined with the >90% dislike ratio on the trailer, extremely weak ticket sales outside of the prestige 70mm IMAX (only 39 screens worldwide), the damage control press tour, and the trailer being outperformed by other movies... all of these point to a likely disappointing performance.

@simplesamtx @Hybridathlete Its incredibly rare for an accident produce a situation where a seat belt would cause damage. You can essentially view people surviving crashes without seat belts the same as people who survive lightning strikes with zero negative effects. They are almost as rare as unicorns.

I know someone who raised their kids to not wear a seatbelt because she said “I was in an accident and the cop told me that if I was wearing my seatbelt I would have died”. We all know it’s a bs lie and they were never told that. So now she has kids who don’t wear seatbelts because of this lie and now their kids don’t wear seatbelts because of the grandmas lie. Literally generational stupidity. Some people are just idiots.

6 years as a firefighter taught me that if you wear your seatbelt, it is very difficult to die in a car crash, even a relatively high speed one. It also taught me that it is very easy to die if you are not wearing a seatbelt. I can't tell you how many times I was first on scene to a 50+ mph crash, even head on or rollovers, and the cars were smashed to shit, but everyone in the cars was completely fine, not much more than some scratches or bruises. In many cases, all occpants were out of the vehicles and walking around before we even got there. But if anyone wasn't wearing their seatbelt, they were seriously fucked up or dead on arrival.

I canceled my cable recently. It took TWO HOURS on the phone. That’s another story for another day. But I still have to drop off the equipment. So now I am at the Xfinity store. I’ve been sitting here for 30 minutes waiting in line. There’s are two people in line ahead of me. I have to wait in the queue behind people who are here to buy a new phones, transfer service, troubleshoot their devices. That process can take hours. There is no process for people who are here simply to pick up or drop off equipment. This is DMV level incompetence. WHYYYYYY???

@GenghisMFKhan Bullets absolutely do crazy and unpredictable things after impact. Ballistics and putting the bullet where you want it has nothing to do with what the bullet does after getting there. A sniper can place where the entry wound is, they cant control the exit.

As a career retired sniper I can categorically say this is utter bullshit. People say stuff they hear other people say and they think it’s true. It’s not. I promise you at that distance with that 30.06 rifle I could put 100 shots out 100 inside your mouth hole and the guys who are still in there prime would ask you which nostril you want hit. When professional shooters do it we hit what we aim for and if we don’t we usually know the exact reason we missed and nail the follow up shot immediately. The whole bullets do crazy unpredictable things all the time lie is laughable. If that were true snipers would not exist. Our profession is based on repetitive consistency. Bullets go exactly where you point them unless you or environmental factors affect them. Period.
