Active shooter training for law enforcement absolutely stresses the fact a non-combatant can be running from an area where the shots are coming from. People will be running from the danger, and likely right towards you. No scenario ever develops exactly like your training, but an innocent person running towards you is entirely expected. That being said, without being in the mind of that officer, we're only guessing how the circumstances presented themselves to her.

That is the epitome of a shit show. There is no reason to expect a non-combatant to come from the hallway where shots are pouring through. The shooter would literally follow the same path only seconds behind the Rabbi. You have milliseconds to make a determination, your partner is down and you have no clue on their status. You radio for medical assistance and an unknown presents out of your periphery. Everyone can talk shit but it is a shit show for a shoot/no-shoot. If it's the shooter and you don't shoot you and your partner are both dead. If you do shoot and its a bystander you're fu*ked. Make your call western man....

Nothing grinds my gears more than slow drivers camping in the right lane (as they should) who then decide to accelerate as I’m passing them on the left (as one is supposed to do). This happened twice today.

The stage gadget I was asked about previously is a dim bulb current limiter.
It’s used to stop you blowing up things your testing which might have an internal short.
The incandescent bulb element is in effect a variable resistor in that if you try to draw too much current the element heats up enough for its resistance to essentially go nearly infinite, preventing more current from being drawn. By working out the power rating on the bulbs you can control how much current is allowed to be drawn by your test item.
(If you need to ask how to make one it’s not safe for you to make one. )

I know you want to know how long it'd take to fill the wall. The answer is 1,840 years. Here's how I got it.
Assume a new blade every week. That's 50 a year. In ten years, 500 blades. In 30 years, 1500 blades.
The space behind the wall would be the space between two studs up to the level of the slot, so 3" x 16" x 48", or 2304 cubic inches.
A Gillette disposable blade is 0.0125 cubic inches, and if you assume a 50% packing efficiency, there's room for 92,000 blades before it gets full.
That's 1840 man-years of shaving (I have no idea how fast women go through blades).
