Sony announced them killing off physical games with a tweet and a blog post like it was some regular Wednesday, expecting people will be mad for a bit and move on. And now the backlash has gotten so big it’s being covered by mainstream news outlets. DON’T LET UP, DON’T SHUT UP.

Movies still come on Blu-ray, music is still pressed on vinyl and books still fill store shelves. But as Sony moves to phase out physical PlayStation releases, many gamers are asking why video games should be the first major entertainment medium to go all digital. nbcnews.com/tech/video-gam…

@SdStripe @Qwarz_Atarz Frag specifically referred to soldiers killing their superior officers in...Vietnam iirc, by throwing frag grenades into their tents while they were sleeping. On account of being ordered to commit atrocities. Kinda like what israel does.

Larry Sanger, one of the co-founders of Wikipedia, has been permanently banned from editing the English version of the site. Wikipedia editors said the decision was made because Sanger encouraged people outside the platform to join internal discussions, which they believe broke the site's rules about influencing community decisions. Sanger says the ban is unfair saying that he was simply trying to bring more voices into the conversation and promote a wider range of opinions. He has also been a longtime critic of how Wikipedia is managed, saying its editing system isn't always fair or transparent.

@Naglfar94Games @Grxit America was a Christian nation because the religion was and always will be authoritarian and expansionist. They spread across europe like the fucking plague and followed the settlers here as well. It also encourages the dregs of society to weaponize religion to justify themselves

Even as undercooked as Gomorrah is, Bye Bye Love and Joana at least *try* to explore the horror and complexity of intimacy and slavery in New Vegas. For the short time you even engage with Joana, she's written as someone who experienced really dreadful things and wants more from her life. Do you understand this is what we're talking about when we say we don't want Fallout to just be dumb fucking jokes? There are real human stories that can take place in this world, and with enough tact you can delve into really difficult stuff. All it takes is class and care.

@BenjaminCrew1 As much as I love a lot of Dracula stuff, I’m sad how alot of adaptations miss how silly and weird it is. Like the most Texas man alive and van helsing feels like a robin williams character.

No one voted for digital ID. And a lame duck Prime Minister who is massively unpopular has decided to enforce this Orwellian monstrosity through parliamentary legislation. Shameful overreach of government control.

As the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) reenters the spotlight, it’s a reminder that proposals that try to replace parents with the government, collect vast amounts of sensitive data, and violate speech rights are never the solution. Some recent pieces from us on the problems with KOSA and similar legislation:

Modern Fallout fans will never truly understand how heroic, fearless and unique Fallout was. Fallout was created as the answer to: What would the world be like after a Nuclear Catastrophe? Not, how can I collect endless junk and shoot mindless enemies. Fallout wanted to say something whilst entertaining you. It wasn't selling you worthless season passes and cash shop currency. Fallout was a game made by hard working nerds, doing their best in a brutal industry with very little resources. Fallout used to be really special. Fallout used to be a RPG.

@juliecbarrett It is not the Governments job to protect our children, it is the Parents job. More Government is not the answer. We do not need Government protecting us on line and we do not need Government regulating AI. We want FREEDOM, not control. Technology is Freedom.
