All those things may be true but doesn't mean Kelenic didn't have the hit tool Emerson has. We won't know with Colt until he struggles and then hopefully adjusts. Mental is a huge part of the game. Guarantee you won't see Colt throwing tantrums on the field and kicking coolers. Every prospect evaluator said Kelenic had one of the best hit tools in the minors at the time. I'd like to think they know a thing or two

You're right, tearing up the minor leagues at every level was a total fluke and then he made it to the big leagues and actually just couldn't hit. Totally not because he struggled adjusting to the higher level of competition and lacked a mentality allowing him to overcome failure for the first time in his career, which has been cited by many around the organization for years since his departure.

He's literally one of if not the worst hitter at the major league level right now. Rodden also plays multiple positions and from what I know is also at least average defensively and has some pop. It's not possible for him to be worse than Rivas. One hit in the ALDS bought him way too much runway. He was a career minor leaguer for a reason
