@nexta_tv There is such a clear bias towards old movies in all of this rankings, because only the "uuuh we are such great film connoisseur" crowd even watches them and then circle jerks that they are so great, absolute bs

So this guy from Norway, Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo won six different competitions in Winter Olympics in a cross skiing.🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🇳🇴 Cross skiing is i believe most difficult sport if it’s coming to strength and endurance in Winter Olympics. Here is typical, jealous, most likely MAGA American reaction. I am fucking allergic to jealousy, especially this kind. They were always jealous, they were always about revenge because of envy. Now you know MAGA mindset, now you know that those jealous of everything subnothings can’t have power. They will always be like that.

Swedish soldier Frida checking the optics on her AK 5C under the sweltering Afghan afternoon at the forward operating base, 2011. This image was taken during one of the most active years of NATO’s mission in Afghanistan, a conflict that drew soldiers from more than 50 nations, including Sweden. At the time, Swedish troops were primarily stationed in Mazar-i-Sharif as part of ISAF (International Security Assistance Force), supporting stabilization, reconstruction, and local security efforts in northern Afghanistan. The conditions were harsh. Daytime temperatures often soared past 110°F (43°C), and forward operating bases offered little comfort, just sandbags, camouflage netting, and cot beds under makeshift shade. For soldiers like Frida, every quiet moment between patrols was an opportunity to clean, adjust, and recalibrate weapons. Her AK 5C, a Swedish-modified version of the FN FNC, was reliable but required constant care in the fine dust that filled every crevice of equipment. Beyond the immediate moment, this photo also represents the transformation of Sweden’s military identity. Though historically neutral, Sweden’s deployment to Afghanistan marked one of its most significant overseas missions since the Napoleonic era. The image of a woman soldier calmly maintaining her weapon in a war zone symbolizes both the normalization of female participation in combat roles and the professionalism of modern peacekeeping forces. Frida’s composure contrasts with the brutal environment surrounding her, a reminder that much of a soldier’s life is made up not of battles, but of waiting, maintaining, and enduring. Between 2002 and 2014, over 9,000 Swedish soldiers served in Afghanistan as part of ISAF. Only five Swedish soldiers were killed in action, but more than 70 reported long-term psychological effects such as PTSD upon returning home. © History Pictures #archaeohistories

France is committed to the sovereignty and independence of nations, in Europe and elsewhere. This guides our choices. It underpins our commitment to the United Nations and to its Charter. It is on this basis that we support, and will continue to support Ukraine and that we have built a coalition of the willing for a robust and lasting peace, to defend these principles and our security. It is also on this basis that we decided to take part in the exercise organized by Denmark in Greenland. We fully assume this decision, because security in the Arctic and at the outer edges of our Europe is at stake. No intimidation or threat will influence us—neither in Ukraine, nor in Greenland, nor anywhere else in the world when we are confronted with such situations. Tariff threats are unacceptable and have no place in this context. Europeans will respond in a united and coordinated manner should they be confirmed. We will ensure that European sovereignty is upheld. It is in this spirit that I will engage with our European partners.

Very much appreciate the brave and courageous people of Ukraine. I enjoyed my important conversation today with President Zelensky and Senator Blumenthal. It is in our nation’s interest for Ukraine to survive and thrive. I believe more pressure on Putin is necessary. I am very grateful for the hard work of President Trump and his team to end the bloodbath. It will pay off. President Zelensky indicated the bipartisan Russia sanctions bill would be a great help and President Trump is fully onboard. To those who buy cheap Russian oil propping up Putin’s war machine, the price is about to go up.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

A good and, as always, very constructive discussion with the U.S. Senators @LindseyGrahamSC and @SenBlumenthal. I briefed them on the combined Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure – hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles every day, deliberately timed right now, during such a bitterly cold winter. That’s why missiles for air defense remain our top priority, and we count on our partners’ support. We see many various factors that make Putin – and, by extension, all of Russia – significantly weaker. It is crucial to maximize every possible form of pressure to finally force the Russians to end this war. We discussed the current state of the senators’ sanctions bill, which can have a substantial impact on the positions of Russia and all those aiding it in this war. I also updated them on the progress of our contacts with envoys of President Trump – we are now very close to finalizing the documents. And I am grateful to the senators for their stance on the importance of security guarantees and their continued bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress. Everyone remembers what the Budapest Memorandum was – no one wants a repeat. We agreed to continue our dialogue and discuss everything at a meeting in the near future. Thank you for your help and bipartisan support!

Here's the dilemma, you can't. You're the skinny guy in prison. You're going to belong to someone. You have no way to protect sovereignty. If you don't want to be Americans or Europeans, then someone else is going to lay claim to your land. Choose wisely. You don't have a country if you can't defend it. You exist through the good grace of others, but you won't remain sovereign. You don't have to like it, but it still won't change the fact that this is a universal truth.

People are missing the big picture. This isn't an "invasion"; it's a massive upgrade for the people of Greenland and a total win for Western defence. Why let China or Russia move in when we can make it a US territory? 🇺🇸 The Daily Mail is right: taking action now is better than regretting it later. 💯

BREAKING: President Trump has ordered United States military leaders to draw up a plan for the takeover of Greenland, according to The Daily Mail. The report also says Europeans are in full-blown panic and may come up with a maximum concession deal soon. "European officials fear that, for Trump, the window of opportunity before the mid-terms is closing in the summer, therefore action is expected sooner rather than later. The Nato summit on July 7 seems like the natural timing for a compromise deal." - The Mail Denmark should just sell. I don't really think an actual invasion of Greenland will happen. It's more likely they'll just give it up for a lot of cash.

@adamscochran That's a bad take Adam, it's clearly something else most likely drones since it started from Iran, the response from Russia with submarines and the chase way into European waters is definitely too much for oil, look into the Russian "Ursa Major" that sunk last year

We’re not going to get an honest answer. Trump chased it because he thought it was oil. When it ends up being either an espionage vessel or illegal arms supply from Russia, the news will quietly get buried or explained away as oil. But, the amount of oil that vessel can carry is not worth a two week chase and Russian escort.
Faytuks News@Faytuks

It will be interesting to see how "empty" this Russian-flagged tanker really is, considering it has been on the run for two weeks with Russian assets sent to escort it.

MORE: The circumstances of this alleged strike targeting Putin’s residence in Novgorod do not conform to the pattern of observed evidence when Ukrainian forces conduct strikes into Russia, and the Kremlin has offered no evidence to support its claim that Ukrainian forces targeted Putin’s residence on December 29.⬇️ Confirmed Ukrainian strikes in Russia typically generate evidence observable in open sources. Such evidence includes footage, often geolocated, of air defense operations, explosions, fires, or smoke plumes near targeted objects; statements from local and regional Russian authorities, usually downplaying successful Ukrainian strikes as “debris” from downed drones; and reports from local sources and media of fire or damage to such objects. ISW has not observed any such footage nor local or regional reporting about Ukrainian strikes near Putin’s residence to corroborate Lavrov’s claim. Lavrov’s claim of downing 89 Ukrainian drones over Novgorod Oblast is also inconsistent with the Russian Ministry of Defense’s (MoD’s) claim that Russian forces downed 47 Ukrainian drones over the oblast overnight on December 28 to 29, further undermining the claim. Ukrainian forces previously struck numerous military targets in Novgorod Oblast, which produced evidence. Russian opposition outlet Sota published an investigation into the alleged strike on December 29, reporting that Valdai residents did not hear air defenses operating overnight, even though Russian air defenses would have had to operate to down up to 91 Ukrainian drones.

NEW: The Kremlin accused Ukraine of conducting a long-range drone strike targeting Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residence in Novgorod Oblast on December 29. 🧵(1/3) The circumstances of this alleged strike do not conform to the pattern of observed evidence when Ukrainian forces conduct strikes into Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky refuted the alleged strike against Putin’s residence in Novgorod Oblast and warned that Russia will use this claim to justify strikes against Kyiv City and Ukrainian government buildings. The Kremlin may intend to use this claimed strike to justify its rejection of any peace proposals that come out of recent bilateral US-Ukrainian and multilateral US-Ukrainian-European talks. 🇺🇦🇺🇲 Zelensky has developed an effective strategy in response to Trump's "peace plan," writes the Wall Street Journal. This tactic essentially relies on the formula — "yes, but..." and involves insisting on specific conditions, especially regarding the mechanisms for implementing the most contentious points. Zelensky expresses readiness to hold elections under a ceasefire; does not rule out Russia's participation in managing the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), but only under mandatory control by Ukraine and the US; also acknowledges the possible limitation of the number of Ukrainian armed forces, but not below the current level. ➡️ This approach allows Zelensky, on one hand, to formally support the peace plan, and on the other hand — to defend and advance Ukraine's strategic interests.
