The biggest gap in AI + 3D right now is the difference between a cool demo and something you can actually use in a game dev pipeline. Generating a character is cool. But for game dev, you need parts you can edit, swap, reuse, and assemble. I've hit this wall a lot while building Byrsa. AssetHub's workflow is the first one that actually solves it: concept art → split into modular parts → generate meshes → assemble into a usable character system. Huge step in the right direction.

Friend of mine, 46, goes to doctor with: Extreme sun sensitivity, debilitating fatigue, Blood in urine, Positive ANA (autoimmune antibodies, w/a lupus-like pattern), lupus-like face rash, kidney function #'s of an 80-yr-old man... Doctor says "that's normal" —no further testing needed. Literally Google could tell you this indicates further testing for Lupus. And your body should not be attacking itself, period. Conventional doctors pretty much won't do anything for you until you're dying. (And even then, there's not much they can do). Advocate for yourself! (& learn about Natural Medicine)

What the actual hell. And you guys ask me why I don’t like AI. It’s because of the intentions behind it. These people openly talk about turning intelligence into a utility they control and sell back to humanity like electricity. One man or one company should never have that much influence over human thinking, creativity, learning, and decision making. I genuinely don’t think kids should be heavily exposed to AI this early either. A generation growing up depending on machines to think for them is dangerous long term.

@Jckub17 @Pferdinand98 @justalexoki Extraordinary and naive. Europe without the EU would be, as it has always been, a perpetual warzone. We can respect each other's cultures without separating. What we need is greater federalization, a unified army, and to resist USG interference in our politics and elections.

Europe is not a nation it’s a continent. Each country has sits own history, culture, traditions etc. What works for France may not suit Hungry. Each nation has its own needs for imports and exports, let the people of said nation control this and all other legislations for their citizens. Why let Brussels control whether your bottle cap is attached to the bottle? We are not all bound by the same constitution so why should we be governed by one institute?

Its a resource management game, with a sci-fi setting. I lost sight of what codex was doing a couple of months ago, it put some of the game logic in stdb and some in the Sim. That doesn't work, left hand doesn't know what the right hand, so I chose to put all the logic/source of truth in the Sim. It was a long decision chain why, maybe another day for that, but the refactor only took a day; caught it early. Basic resource gathering, industry, logistics, player economy, and missions are roughly coded in and playable. Needs a lot of polish, depth, and coolness still. I will share more as I go if there's more interest. 😀

Since I'm feeling 'sharey'. The game is an MMO. Yep, #1 rule, never build an MMO as your first game. I believe that to be true, but this is part of the experience. Shout out to @spacetime_db here, because I think using this tech is really the only way this could even be possible for a solo first time dev to even consider. It's also web based, because it sort of has to be to let STDB do a lot of the work. But that also means the choice of Bevy as a game engine reduces it to headless sim and I don't get to play with any of the graphics. It also puts a lot of pressure on Codex's web UI choices to surface, organize, and stylize the game loops. It's good at knowing what to surface, but not good at layout or style. Enjoy the long weekend!

@Coffeeandsewing @Jack_Schmidt_TM It's called a neurosis. Don't tell people to clean things just to scratch your own itch. You're not entitled to that. The dishes can stay in the sink for slightly longer. Socks can linger. You'll find that people will pick up after themselves eventually. Your schedule is not law.

Women do more housework. 200% more. Living alone, compared to men living alone. Women do more housework not because they're oppressed or because it makes them healthier or happier (they're the most medicated for depression). The do it because they like it. They do it because they're driven to because of their biological role. The only people oppressed by housework are the men that are forced to do it by the women that are so egocentric they can't imagine anyone else being any different than them.

I was in contact with a team from Italy at one point that was building a blockchain provenance system for olive oil. The problem is you eventually realize true auditability is almost impossible. The surveillance architecture required to actually prove something is unadulterated at every step of the chain is insane. Most of the industry already relies on what I call “second-party testing,” which usually just means producers submitting their own samples to a lab. Very few consumer agencies are actually pulling random bottles off shelves or websites and testing them independently. And even with blockchain, what stops someone from dipping the sensor into their best tank while selling lower-quality oil everywhere else? I’ve been thinking about this for years and I honestly don’t think there’s a real technical solution. High-quality food does not scale cleanly across massive ecommerce networks and long supply chains. At some point you just want to buy locally from people you trust

@SeloSlav As an aside, a lot of Americans are very aware of olive oil adulteration. I have thought for years that this is one of the main things supporting California olive oil, a lot of which isn't great. I wonder if an auditable supply chain would let you charge substantially more.

A 12% tariff on paper is closer to 20% in reality. I used to pay effectively 0% importing olive oil into the US, which made sense considering the country produces less than half a percentage point of the global olive oil supply. Now I’m paying roughly 20% per liter once you factor in customs overhead, brokerage fees, delays, and paperwork. People keep saying “just raise prices,” but olive oil demand elasticity is already pretty low at these prices. There’s a limit to what people will pay once freight, glass, and overall landed costs keep stacking on top of each other. At a certain point the product just becomes unsellable.
