@rothschildmd The idea that setting a nuke off in Iran would end the war rather than expand it beyond all imagining, sucking in every nation on earth, is only something a small child could believe.

Trump is so disinhibited and disconnected from reality that he's openly talking about going nuclear in Iran. I'd imagine he has one adviser telling him that using nukes would make him history's most important president and own the woke left, and another reminding him nuclear war would be bad for his golf courses and hotels. Which one he listens to might decide the fate of the world.

@SamaHoole Saladino exists to ensure people don't get radicalized into Toxic Bile Paradigm / Terrain Theory. Once a normie "finds out about canola", they get cattle herded into saladino et al, just like people got cattle herded into jordan peterson to prevent them finding Johnathan Bowden.

@blakeir Nah, not commercial art. The gaming industry's been cannibalized by commercial art in the last decade or so. But a game is just a fun loop at the end of the day. Board games don't need AAA graphics. Neither does playing outside in the yard. How you skin the cat is irrelevant.

games are commercial art built with software. i’m not sure there’s another software industry as resistant to AI as gaming.

I feel like Ged in Earthsea. I watch dev videos to find the true name of a feature, then cast it into Cursor and whole worlds start assembling themselves. Prompting LLMs is basically learning the true names of phenomena.

@MicroBerto @Sparkpoodle1 Don't you actually get slight loss of retinol with pasteurization because the heat simultaneously kills off ADH/RDH etc? In Europe at least fortification is not mandatory and I get whole pasteurized milk if I have to

Retinol gets oxidized into retinaldehyde and retinoic acids Retinaldehyde is straight poison, retinoic acid in excess is also toxic and gets even more toxic as it gets metabolized And then they fortify it with MORE retinol (vitamin A) You don't want to be drinking unlimited amounts of this.

I've never listened to a podcast for more than 3 or 4 minutes. I don't have the patience to listen to people ramble on while I wait for them to talk about something I might be interested in. I'm not sure there's ever been a less efficient way to transmit information.

@LeviTurk Very good, with lots of planning of course. See no reason to use a more expensive model right now. Full tilt you can get like a week of output for $20/mo.

Kind of crazy that this is what programming looks like now. I'm going to keep pushing and pump out more ThreeJS games, but maybe it's time to get into HVAC or plumbing? Anyway, still looking for work... FYI: this is not my typical prompt; I'll often use a much more spec-forward plan but I'm at the point in this project where all the systems are set up, the codebase is well-indexed, and a prompt like this will perform a lot better than anything more structured. This feature was one-shotted by the way.

Durable A PDF course and private community built on Durable to show you how to make money with Durable by turning fast little websites into cash-flowing digital assets. Luxury screenshots. Guru energy. Local business sites spun up at speed for roofers, med spas, plumbers, detailers, and anyone else with a pulse and a budget. Clean funnels, booked calendars, revenue dashboards, testimonials, wins, flexes, and the occasional Lambo in the background for absolutely no reason. Inside the community, members trade niches, templates, offers, and screenshots like contraband. New sites go live fast. New deals close faster. One Durable site becomes three, then ten, then a small empire of shiny local lead-gen machines. Built on Durable. Sold with Durable. Scaled with Durable.

@napoleon21st virtally every vegetable oil can be got cold extracted though. i agree on Soybean Oil though, and i wish we stopped there. it does something to your thymus genetically, so I'd never trust it. Crisco is also bad. but i think we got greedy.

@SeloSlav It's a misnomer at the very least. What's bad is the vegetable and soy oil ones that they extract with high heat and pressure because it's not naturally oily

@SeloSlav It is worse than even that. It was a "zero acre farm" funding corporate intelligence operation run by "seed oil disrespector" that also bought off Shanahan to back them as they transitioned & positioned their gmo algae produced oil from industrial product to food one

@Parvenu62 Yeah, and again I agree with no caveats. "Showing the process" while you work is a costly signal that adds credibility to your end product, and if that's what readers want then that's what you should show them. I think there's a line though...

@SeloSlav This is a fair point. As I said, too many fetishize suffering. My guess is that they’re trying to tell the story of their product by showing what they went through to make it real, perhaps indicating that the work was well thought out, not generated on the fly.

Let me push back on this a bit. Writing is generally seen as an expression of the author, so handing it off to a machine creates a disconnect, like it’s not really your thoughts. This is why AI use creates reader backlash. That said, you’re right about how too many people fetishize suffering. I think that in the creative space, the words you publish should be the words you wrote yourself, but other than that, AI use is fine; I’m no purist.
Martin Erlić@SeloSlav

Because indie game dev, and honestly writing too, turned into a citation racket. The pitch stopped being make something great and became look how much I suffered making it. 5,000 hand-drawn assets. 2,000 git commits. 690 sleepless nights. My baby is finally here. Okay. And? Consumers were being told to pay not because the work was good, but because the artist bled in public and built a moral debt around the product. AI is starting to smash that whole edifice. Good. Maybe now actual game creation gets democratized and people can finally get more of what they wanted instead of whatever survived gatekeeping, review mobs, and indie underdog theater
