@Courthousemouse @TrumpWarRoom They're increasing the standard deduction for seniors by $4K. Depending on people's income, it may equal no tax on SS, but for most people, it's just a deduction off gross income. If you make $35K and they deduct $4K, you're still paying tax on $31K

@ericadyork That's just a deduction for seniors, not tax-free. There's a difference between no tax on SS income, and taking $4K off your gross income. Not the same thing.

Trump's no tax on Social Security promise is achieved by temporarily increasing the additional standard deduction allowed for each senior by $4,000 (and is permitted for itemizers too). The boost phases out at a 4% rate at $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.

UPS and FedEx are private companies…they can set their own prices, pick and choose what they want to focus on, and streamline things to keep costs down.
USPS, though? It’s got all these government strings attached. They’re legally required to deliver everywhere, even to super remote spots that probably cost a fortune to reach, and they can’t just hike rates whenever they feel like it. Also Congress has to sign off. Plus, they’re stuck with this massive workforce and old-school pension obligations that private companies don’t have to sweat as much.

🚨DEEPER DIVE: So, @realDonaldTrump’s Executive Order calls for two separate things — a strategic reserve and a stockpile. The strategic reserve will contain only $BTC (the digital asset with the most store of value) using the 200,000 or so tokens already in the government’s possession that has been seized over the years through criminal and civil forfeiture. Sacks says Bessent and Lutnick have also been given authorization to explore means of acquiring more bitcoin through avenues that will not cost the taxpayer. The EO also mandates a full audit of all the digital assets currently in the government’s possession. The other is a digital asset stockpile containing assets other than bitcoin — presumably $XRP, $ADA, $ETH and $SOL (as announced by the President last weekend) and potentially others. The key difference between the reserve and the stockpile is that the government will not actively look for ways to purchase more of the assets contained in the stockpile. It will only explore using government funds (if they can find budget neutral ways to do that) on buying $BTC. Sacks says the purpose of the stockpile is “responsible stewardship of the government’s digital assets under the @USTreasury.”

@PopCrave Last time I was in there, they had nothing I needed and nothing I wanted. The yarn was all acrylic rather than natural fibers; the fabrics cheap, too. Poor selection of other tools and supplies.
